Chapter 29 : Blame

Nathan let out an exhale and softly grinned. He grunted a little in pain as he moved his leg into a more comfortable position. Kello walked over to Anna, signaling the officers comforting her to leave them, and called out, "Jonas, follow me."

"Sir, why do you have me by your side?" Jonas asked nervously.

"Because you're a rookie, now shut up and learn. Be sure to take notes too." Kello turned over to Anna with distaste in his eyes. "I think I've been involved with your father before, Mr. Fredriksten. Admittedly, he is a hardworking businessman but he had a certain...displeasure towards immigrants. Although I understood where he was coming from, he did not often treat me with respect or as an equal." She looked away, biting her lip with a frown, slightly trembling.

Kello took out his box case, picked up his contacts and slowly placed them back on his eyes, "I don't have a grudge against you or your family but I know you hurt my little Nathan and took your time making him feel agony. For that, I have a difficult time forgiving you."

Digital blue rings beamed and encircled around his pupil and iris as he looked down upon Anna. Lights from the cars and lamppost created an umbra upon his face, only his intimidating eyes were shown from the silhouette of his face. He slightly exhaled as he gave her a stern look. "You're lucky that Nathan is concerned for you and forgives you. Otherwise, I wouldn't be as merciful. Now, tell me what happened in there."

Anna felt immense pressure from Kello's eyes as she explained her situation about her mother's sudden murderous change, how she defended herself from her mother then explained that she had blacked out when she reached for the knife

Anna felt immense pressure from Kello's eyes as she explained her situation about her mother's sudden murderous change, how she defended herself from her mother then explained that she had blacked out when she reached for the knife.

"All I could remember was this voice, speaking to me, telling me to keep on killing and killing until I couldn't move a single muscle in my body. I just kept on hearing that voice, telling me terrible things. But suddenly the voice just disappeared and I was awoken to seeing Nathan in rage, his eyes..." She felt like gagging as she covered her mouth, trying to breathe slowly.

"So you don't remember what happened?"

"Yes! I swear, I wasn't conscious during the incident! The last I saw was my own mother trying to kill me."

Kello was lost in thoughts, thinking about this whole situation. Kello knew that Anna was telling the truth and Nathan would never lie to him. If they would ever lie to Kello, he would've detected it using his special contacts. The situation has gotten complicated for him, he knew that the true culprit in this situation is the mother. Anna only defended herself but then was 'controlled.'

[I]Perhaps they were hypnotized, it isn't uncommon for criminals to use hypnotism for crimes.

He suggested as he brainstormed. The true problem in this situation for Kello was how would he explain to the public about what happened during this incident. He has never encountered a case like this before.

Suddenly, that alien symbol behind the father's back was brought up into Kello's thoughts.

"Something strange is going on..." Kello mumbled to himself.
