Hello, I'm Megan. How are things? I'm glad they're good for you because they're not for me...

One of my favourite things to say is... "I'm sort of like a orange juice that you bought last year. My expiration date is approaching. But you see, people throw them out before they expire or they finish with them, and that seems to be what I want to happen. I want to go, I'm tired. I'm tired of fighting now, it gets harder each day and that's not a lie. Needles, meds, it's all perry- werry-wish it was over. Gone. I wish I was gone. I wish I would just hurry up and be gone. I'm ready to go...

"Megan? Wake up!" The nurse attempted to order calmly but she sounded a bit annoyed. "Sorry" I groaned, wiping my eyes. "You slept over your nap time. You was due to wake up 3 hours ago. We was all so scared..." She sighed. "Did you think I... Died?" I questioned, almost tearing up. She looked around the room thinking of how to answer my very simple question. "Uh, so do you want any dinner? Oh. I mean uhh, you need dinner come on. To the kitchen!" She sighed in relief. I shook my head, as a sign of 'leave me alone I wanna sleep lady!' But she just pulled me by the wrist gently, giggling as I did too. "Your mom is here at 5pm. You should eat before you see her..." She said, smiling. "Really? What time is it now?" I asked, watching her check her watch quickly. "3:30... What do you want, I'll just bring it to you instead... Mash and sausage or cheese and potato pie with fried chicken?" She asked. "Option 2 sounds nicer... Is there any drink options?" I laughed. "Oh yeah. Sugar free lemonade or water, basic I know... We're not good at supplying, clearly." She sighed. I understood the fact that this hospital didn't really care about feeding but they claim to want to keep us alive. "I'll take water..." I nodded slowly. She nodded and took my orders to the kitchen.

As she walked out, a nurse and a teenage boy walked in. He looked my age or maybe a little older. He was cute, his head completely bald, just like me! He winked and smiled as he was guided to his new bed... Next to mine? The doctor layer him down and blanketed him. They talked for a bit, it was of course 'the talk' every new guest at this hospital gets which is about routines and care... Blah blah blah... Verrrrry boring.

"Dinner is served!" The nurse laughed as she drove the tray over and placed its warm content on my lap. The tray was so warm and made me feel cosy and warm on my stomach. The food on the other hand didn't look appealing, but I ate it anyway just to please her. The nurse put her right thumb up and left thumb down which I'm guessing was a chance for me to rate. I gave her a soppy thumbs up and motioned her to get lost and she did. She's really understanding. She's my favourite nurse. The doctor left the room and it was just me and the new lad. "So what's your name sweet pea?" He asked, shockingly. Sweet pea? I'm not too sure I like that. "M..Megan... And you?" I shyly spoke. "Adam Griever!" He said, giving me a huge grin which made me nod awkwardly because I couldn't smile back as I had food in my mouth. "What's your story? Why are you here?" He confidently asked. I didn't want to tell him anything but since we were here... "It's a long story really, but we're already here so... We might as well talk about it?" I groaned, plastering a fake smile on as I then went into as medium detail as I could to him.
