This book is based on the truth, thus meaning nearly all events actually happened to me. There are Skainian themes throughout, however I wrote this book to introduce the culture to the Western World for the first time. Skaine is a magical, Northern Arctic, dark but intriguing nation. Just imagine the type of magic the literature would have.
I've had disappointment before, especially throughout the central teen years. The book's main theme is loneliness, prejudice and the crippling power of social problems towards people, and how much this can affect minorities and how fear can manipulate people.
