Taro turned. Ayano stood there, the real Ayano. Her clothes were still as gray as the world around her, as well as badly torn and scuffed. But her face bore an new expression, so different to pain and panic.

Joy.

"It is! Senpai!"

She ran forward and hugged Taro, who was taken completely by surprise. She held him tight, and after a moment, Taro put his arms around her.

They just stood there for a minute, holding each other closely. Taro then stepped back and looked down at Ayano.

"You're real right? I'm not just hallucinating am I?"

Ayano stared at him for a moment before nodding.

"It's ok senpai, I'm real."

Taro sighed with relief.

"What I just heard... Was that real? About Fun Girl I mean."

Ayano nodded.

"While she inhabits my mind, I can look into hers."

Silence.

Then Ayano spoke again, and now, the beginnings of tears glistened in her eyes, the happiness on her face washing away to reveal worry and concern.

"S-senpai..."

Taro didn't know how to reply.

"I-I just wanted to say..."

Ayano sniffed and continued shakily.

"I-I just wanted to say that..."

"...I'm sorry."

Taro blinked.

"Sorry I couldn't protect you, sorry I couldn't-"

Dark cracks burst up around Ayano in a ring. The black tendrils shot up again and wrapped themselves around her, holding her up in the air.

"AAAAAHHH!"

"What a heartwarming reunion..."

The Fun Girl appeared in front of Taro, with her hands raised.

"AHAHAHAHA..."

"SOON... SOON I WILL BE FREE..."

"W-what the hell are you doing!?"

A bright silver light marked a large circle, Fun Girl in the middle.

"I FOOUND IT..."

"THE GATE IS NEARLY OPEN..."

"BUT..."

Fun Girl looked up at Ayano, still bound by the tendrils. Then she looked back at Taro, and the smile on her face widened.

"I CAN'T GET OUT WHILE AYANO LIVES..."
