Ingredients

# sultanas - 100g

# slices of white bread spread with butter or margarine

# eggs - 5( medium)

# sugar - 125g

# vanilla essence - 5 drops

# milk - one and a quarter of a liter

# orange zest - 1 tsp

METHOD

# wash the sultanas and place in a pie dish or individual dishes.

# remove the crusts from the bread and cut each slice into four triangles, neatly arrange overlapping in a pie dish.

# prepare an egg custard

# strain the custard on the bread, dust lightly with sugar, add the orange zest.

# cook and serve. For a crispy finish, sprinkle with icing sugar and brown well.
