Error

War. Famine. Death.

This is what the world had come to. Humanity was coming to an end at our own hands. Our Earth was dying. Scientists all over the world were trying to find a way to save our planet and ourselves. Underground farms worked, for a while. Soon, radiation seeped so far into the ground that volcanoes oozed and the world was clouded with ash. The human race continued to wither.

Until a scientist named Conor Oscar Rodwell created the COR System. He made an alternate reality in which humanity could live on. He explained to the world how he could download each individual person and enter them into the system. Everyone flocked to the COR warehouses, trying to get into the system before they died. Most of the world survived, but there were those who were unfortunate. The last few to arrive were the COR Configures. They came through, looking as thought they had just barley made it in time.

Come to find out, some of the least fortunate had broken into the main headquarters, where the last preparations were being set for the COR before the portal closed, and tried to force them to let them enter before them. At the last second, right when the light of the portal disintegrated, Johnathan Jones came through. Right away he was apprehended by the COR Configures. They started to take him to the holding blocks, but before they could reach them the glitches started.

Many Programs, as people were now called, changed right away and for the next 5 hours. Some things were small, like the color of their hair changed or their voices ended up sounding distorted. The personality changes were the bad changes. Many people became livid and murderous, killing their family or trying to run down their friends. Johnathan escaped in the chaos. People stepped up, calling themselves Alpha 1.0, and started to gather the glitches and hauling them to the holding blocks. COR Config. decided that these men and women would become an elite group, protecting everyone against the harmful Glitches.

The glitches caused to the environment were easily fixed. Unfortunately, the Programs that were now Glitches could not be fixed. When a new Program was born, the doctors went through great lengths to make sure that babies didn't end up becoming Glitches, but some still happened. COR Config. blamed it all on John, saying that if he was caught they could get him to fix the bugs. Search parties formed, but none ever came back with an arrest. John was never found.

He is no longer a problem today, 1289 Post-Launch. Programs lived a normal human life span. Being uploaded into a virtual reality doesn't come with immortality. Not that anyone could stay sane for that long. Programs today live normal, happy lives. For now at least.

Hello! I know this part is short, but it is an Intro to part one of this story. Kinda like a prologue.
