Jun's story and culture is loosely based on late 12th Century Japan. However, it is set in an alternate Japan. I have tried to keep everything as accurate as possible, but there will be major changes to history and customs hence why it is set in an alternate Japan.
If you are an avid scholar of this time period in Japan, I apologize. Yes, I know the changes I have made, and yes, they are intentional. I hope this doesn't stop you from enjoying the story.
And, if you even think that this story is based off of some other (well-known) story, stop those thoughts immediately. I won't tell you what story I'm talking about, but if anyone mentions it, I will publish a note talking about the obvious differences between the two.
Also a huge huge thank goes out to GodGirl91 for the 14 beautiful covers she made for this book. I had a difficult time deciding, and maybe the rest of them will make an appearance eventually.
