Chapter 1

A/N This is my first fanfic, so I'm sorry if it is terrible. I'm not great at writing, but I do enjoy it. Again, I'm sorry if this is really bad.

   Look, it's hard being immortal.

Let me back up. So, you see, I was just a normal girl living in Georgia, and well, things got a little weird.

It was the summer between my seventh and eighth-grade years. I was well on my way to becoming a doctor, and I got an invitation to be a medical intern at this camp for special kids in Long Island, New York. I was a medical prodigy after all.

So, my mom takes me to this camp. The person that invited me said the camp was called "Long Island Sound's Finest Camp for Kids." I went and thought I recognized the place from somewhere, I just wasn't sure where.

There was a huge pine tree at the crest of the hill and about twenty cabins, twelve larger ones, and eight smaller ones. The larger twelve surrounded a large fire pit and a basketball court and all of the cabins formed an Omega shape.

Wait, I remember where this is from. The Percy Jackson books! I love those books. I only realized this once I was inside the camp because my mother couldn't make it past the pine tree. Thalia Grace's pine tree.

---------------------

I walked to the Big House and saw someone waiting on me. He looked familiar. Black hair with a gray streak, sea green eyes, and a troublemaker smile. He was also tall and muscular. Another thing about him was the SPQR tattoo on his arm with a trident and a few lines under it. I knew who he was.

   "Percy Jackson?!" I said.

"Are you Teagan Lee?" he asked.

"Yes. I believe I'm here for a few weeks on an internship?"

"I think you will be working with Will in the infirmary. Do you want me to show you around camp? I can if you want."

"Yeah. I would enjoy that. Hey, do you have any idea how I got past the barrier?" I asked with thought behind my words.

I was never told I was a half-blood. I mean I couldn't be, right? He looked at me with compassion and fear in his eyes and said, "No idea."

--------------------------

I should probably stop here and introduce myself.

I'm Teagan Lee. I have wavy, almost curly, dark brown hair with blonde streaks and hazel eyes that can have either blue, green, or gray mixed with brown to make the color or they can be very brown. I have braces. I was born and raised in Mississippi, and I moved to Georgia when I was ten. I was used to being a fairly well-liked girl. When we moved, that all went out the window.

I had only a few friends and was bullied daily. It was the generally accepted truth in Monette that I was smart, and in Steele, I was considered brilliant. I made the assumption that I was made fun of for that.

Plus, I'm a chubby girl. I am a big girl and proud of it.

   Back to the story.

-------------------------------

As soon as he said that, I knew something was up. The way he looked at me said, You're just about to get the shock of your life, have fun! and I didn't like it. When you're like me, you learn that people's eyes say a lot.

He showed me the stables, woods, cabins, dining pavilion, and everything else I needed to see. The last thing we saw was the infirmary, where I would spend most of my time and sleep.

He looked at me the same way he had before and told me, "I'll send Annabeth over to tell you what's going on and why you're here."

He walked away before I could ask what he meant. I was here for an internship, right? I found Will pretty quickly and introduced myself half-heartedly.

Will was tall, like Percy, with curly blonde hair and blue eyes. He had freckles sprinkled across his nose and cheeks. He was actually pretty good looking. When he spoke I realized that he had a southern accent. I liked it. It reminded me of home.

He must have sensed something was wrong because he said, "You sound sad. Are you okay? I need to give you a physical and draw blood."

As he shoved me into a chair, I said, "I-I nothing's wrong. What?"

Right then, I heard a voice that could've only been Annabeth's, "She's fine, Will." She turned to me. "You're Taegan, right?"

The girl was tall, had curly blonde hair with her own gray streak, and gray eyes. She was what you would call a surfer girl. In other words, she was slightly muscular and beautiful.

I corrected her, "It's Teagan. Nice to meet you, Annabeth."

"Nice to meet you, too. Where are you from?"

"Well, I was born in Mississippi, but I live in Georgia."

"Hmm, that is different. Go ahead, Will."

----------------------------

I was good until I got a needle stuck in my arm. I have a phobia of needles. I'm fine if other people are getting stuck. Me, not so much.

After several tries to get me to sit still and let him draw my blood, he called Percy in at my request. When Percy walked in, he asked why Will called him in.

"I'm up to date on my shots, I haven't been hurt, and Nico hasn't gotten out of his cabin to train with me or Jason," then he saw me. "Oh, so she's why you called me in here? What's wrong? What did Annabeth tell you?"

So, at this point, I had two options. I could tell Percy the truth, that I wanted him to hold my hand while Will drew my blood, or l could tell him that Annabeth told me everything and see what he said.

I whispered, "Could you please hold my hand while Will draws my blood?"

You should have seen the look on Percy's face. I was bright red and he was too. "What?" he said.

I almost pushed him down then. "You're not going to make me say it again, are you? I'm already embarrassed enough." I was on the verge of tears at this point.

"No, no, no. Don't cry, please. I will."

   "Thanks."

Will finally got the blood he needed and Percy almost fainted. "That's not!" Percy said.

   Will said, "It is. Ichor!"

At this point, I fainted. Me? I had the blood of the gods? No way on earth! Percy had to catch me so I didn't hit the floor. I was out.

--------------------------------------

The next time I woke up, I could only assume that I was in the infirmary and it was night time. I looked out the window to see the sky, dark with stars brighter than I'd ever seen them. I looked at my phone. 9:10.

I decided to get up and try to find Will. He was walking toward my door. He was dressed in his normal scrub shirt, jeans, and flip flops, but he looked more tired than usual. His bright blue eyes had bags under them, and he drug his feet until he saw me.

I asked, "What is going on? I feel like something is wrong with this whole thing. No way I'm a goddess. It's impossible."

Will sighed, "Well, I've been testing your blood to see who your parents are. All I can come up with is Hades and Poseidon."

"But that's impossible. Poseidon and Hades can't have a child. There must be a mistake."

Will shook his head. "I know! It's been bugging me, too. It's insane, unless...."

His voice trailed off. I knew he was thinking something larger than I could have thought, and I wanted to know what. It was going to drive me crazy if he didn't tell me what he was thinking.

He finally realized I was staring and got flustered. "Sorry, I thought maybe, just maybe, Poseidon could have had a child with a daughter of Hades. That would make sense, but why would he do it?"
