Every year, in the last week of October, Asexuality Awareness Week is celebrated, and this year is no different.

Sunday 23rd October - Saturday 29th October marks this year's annual cake party - uh, sorry - ace awareness week.

One day, we hope that 'Awareness' will become 'Celebration', but for now, the ace community are still mostly invisible to wider society

One day, we hope that 'Awareness' will become 'Celebration', but for now, the ace community are still mostly invisible to wider society. Hidden on the fringes of the LGBTQ+ community and made to feel invalidated by mainstream society, this is the one time in the year where aces and allies all around the globe make a conscious effort to raise visibility regarding the asexual spectrum, from creating art to writing blog posts in order to raise awareness, answer questions and dispel myths around the orientation.

Here, at Project Awesomesauce, we want to fully support all aces, no matter where they fall on the spectrum or their romantic orientation. They are all valid and matter. In celebration of AAW 2016, we will be posting a collection of posts - explaining asexuality, detailing the importance of this week for the community and getting aces to share their experiences. We hope you will find these posts informative, supportive and educational and feel free to comment anything else you'd like to see us do during the week.

Thanks and LTAC!
