When the sun comes up and the cock starts to crow
I'm out of bed early with places to go
I've got statues to sculpt and a painting to do
But I'm lost in admiration when the light is on you
You bit the star attraction
Got me down on bended knees
But you're famous for distraction
All your lovers agree
Just so many days in the course of this life
Only so many hours to smell that rose
But when my number's up and it's time to go
I'll fondly remember those hours you posed
You set an expectation
One I strive to achieve
With love and dedication
And the will to believe
When the sunlight's lost in the twilight's glow
We retire for the evening but with something to show
Taking my meal and sipping my wine
I pray that tomorrow inspires the divine
The light is rare and I beg its return
But nothing's for sure
'Cept the lingering smile in your eyes
So deep and so pure
I've got a mural to paint and inventions to do
But I'm filled with inspiration when the light is on you
