[INCOMING CALL ~ UNKNOWN]

Jake scowled at his phone, that sat on the desk next to a half eaten Pot Noodle. Ignoring the call he pressed his face into the crook of his arm that rested in front of his keyboard.

When his phone buzzed once again he almost threw it against the wall. "For fu-"

He cut himself off when he saw the name that accompanied the message.

billy

He only hesitated for a brief moment before opening the message.

[10:20 Stars are so fucking awesome]

His lips tugged into a smile of disbelief.

[be honest are you high?]

[10:20 No, just an appreciator of astronamy]

[10:21 I'm using my free time to stargaze]

[i cant tell if youre being sarcastic]

[10:21 100% serious]

[10:21 Shut up]

[OUTGOING CALL ~ billy]

"Hey."

"Hi."

'Billy' audibily cleared his throat from the other end of the line. "So..." He stretched out the word until it faded into silence. "Us calling each other... That's a thing now..."

Jake shrugged his shoulders, even though he knew 'Billy' couldn't see him. "I guess."

Jake could hear 'Billy's' grin through the phone. "Don't sound too happy, you might sprain yourself."

"Shut up."

"Have you noticed you say that a lot?"

"Only to you, which is pretty telling."

'Billy' laughed loudly. "So did you read the link I sent you yesterday?"

"You mean the thirty page essay in why velcro shoes are better than laces?" Jake asked raising an eyebrow.

"It was twenty-one pages."

"It was rediculously long."

"As are shoelaces!"
