Prologue

A little girl is born. Her name, from now and on, will be Lily.

Nine years later

Lily waved at her brothers, as they left the train station in the long scarlet train, steam running out from the chimney. She cried and laughed at the same time, as she ran along with the train until she reached the end of the platform. She knew she would miss her brothers, but she wanted them to go anyway. The faster they went, the faster would two years go. Yes, two years. She had counted down to her Hogwarts journey ever since her eldest brother, James, had got to Hogwarts for the first time last year. She wanted to go now! But there was still two years of endless waiting…

‘Lily!’ her father, Harry, called over the heads of hundreds of parents and siblings to the students on the Hogwarts Express. ‘It’s time to go home!’

Lily cast a last look on the train, and then ran to take her mother, Ginny’s, outstretched hand.
