~1989~

It was a nice cold Winter. The birds were out, hunting for an early meal. Snow covering half the streets. The Miller family drove down in their, 'what use to be a nice and shiny new blue van' but turned into a muddy van covered in various fingerprints, made by the children. "Daddy, when will we get to the new house?" The youngest of the two twins, Britt, asked. Bobby Miller, smiled, looking in the rearview mirror, responded with, "We'll be there in no time sweetie. I promise." Britt smiled her adorable smile, and turned towards the foggy window, where only snow was shown. "How about," Tracy Miller, the mother of the family suggested, "we sing a song?" The twins, Terry and Britt, jumped in their seats with excitement, while Nicole and Jackson sighed and rolled their eyes. "How about we not?" Nicole suggested. "Oh C'mon Nicky," Bobby started. "It'll take your mind off how long we get there. We'll be there in no time." Nicole groaned and covered her arms over her chest. "Oh! Oh! Can we sing the wheels on the bus?" Terry shouted out. It was one of Terry's favorite songs. "Can we not? We hear that song millions of times." Jackson whined. "Yeah, back at the other house, now we have to move to this dump." Tracy gave both Nicole and Jackson long glares, before turning back to Britt and Terry. "Let the singing begin." Nicole and Jackson both whined and groaned, holding their ears the whole rest of the way.

"Where here!" The van came to a stop in front of a very big rusty old house, surrounded by trees. "This dump?" Nicole cried. "I call my own room!" Britt called. "Not if I call it first!" Terry called after her. The two jumped out of the van, and ran into the dark and cold house. "Could you believe this?" Nicole told Jackson. "Dad got promoted and we move into this shaggy place? Can't wait until I move out." Jackson nodded, agreeing with her. "Oh come on you two. Get it together. This is a great opportunity for your father, and you should be proud of him. Now, help get these boxes out the trunk, and we can start on your rooms." Tracy told them. "Mom's right," Jackson says, while grabbing one of the boxes. "We should be happy for dad, I mean, when you think about it, sooner or later, he'll be filthy rich. We can throw any party we want here, now that it's big enough," Jackson paused. "Okay, not really, but it's pretty big, you know?" Nicole scoffed. "First dad, then mom, then the twins, and now you? This family is pure crazy. Ugh, at least there's one normal person in this family." Nicole pushed past Jackson, purposely bumping into him.

Nicole and Jackson walked into the cold, dark house. "This place is already giving me the creeps." Nicole said aloud. Jackson snickered. "Oh, calm down Ms. Picky queen, at least we get our own rooms." Nicole smiled to herself, and began her journey, walking upstairs. "Mommy! Daddy! I found the room I want!" Britt called from the back room that was upstairs. Tracy and Bobby giggled, walking over to Britt and her cheerful face. "See? It's perfect. Stephanie and I will have lots of fun up here." Stephanie, was Britt's favorite glass china doll. Her grandmother, May Miller, had gotten it for Britt just when she was only three. Britt instantly fell in love with it. Tracy Miller smiled, and knelt down in front of Britt so she was at her level height. "Listen, uh, Britt, Daddy and I made some arrangements, and we decided your going to share a room with-" Before she could finish what she began saying, Britt cut her off, blurting out, "WITH TERRY? No! Mommy! Please! I can't! Stephanie hates his guts! She told me so when him and I first started sharing rooms! Mommy please don't make me!" Bobby Miller laughed, while Tracy hushed down Britt. "You didn't let your mother finish sweetie, and no, you are not sharing rooms with Terry again. " Britt sighed a sigh of relief. "Sorry, hehe, but who am I sharing rooms with?" Britt cocked her head to the side, waiting for an answer. "Well, we decided that you share rooms with Nicole." From the other end of the hall, a screeching, "WHAT?!" Escaped from the hall, and then heavy loud footsteps. Nicole's footsteps. "No! You cannot do this! There is no way I'm sharing a room with an annoying eleven year old! No! It's not happening!" Nicole roared. Her face was bright red, right now, you could compare her to a tomato. Bobby sighed, "This was going to be the hardest part. Look, Nicole you're going to share rooms with your little sister whether you like it or not. No buts, ifs, or what's, and that's that." Nicole rolled her eyes in anger. "This would have been A LOT better if we just STAYED in California and not come to this stupid dump! I hate it! I hate all of it! I wanna go home!" And just like that, Nicole stomped back down the hall, and then downstairs.

"Listen, I know moving was rough, but I am glad that everything got worked out." The family stood in the cold living room, after Bobby called for a family meeting. "I know we didn't get a lot of boxes put away, but the important thing is, everyone is okay, and out of the anger zone." By "anger zone" it was obvious that Bobby was referring to Nicole. "Okay, now who wants pizza?!" Britt and Terry jumped up and down chanting, "Pizza! Pizza! Pizza!" Tracy smiled. "After a long day, Pizza sounds good. Oh, but before we go, Britt, could you go put the Christmas decorations box in the attic? I forgot to put it up there along with the other boxes." Britt smiled, sure mommy! Anything for the bestest mom in the world!" Nicole rolled her eyes. "Yeah, uh, "bestest" isn't a word." Britt shrugged, and skipped over to the attic stairs, with the Christmas box in her hands." Before she was halfway at the top, her mother called out, "Be careful Britt, honey!" The attic was not what Britt had expected, which was bright, clean, and had a view of a beautiful outside with roses growing in the grass, but instead, it was dusty, and the window view had dirt all over it, there were boxes everywhere, but neither of them matched what her mother had put up here, which was boxes with words on them. Britt, slowly made her way to where multiple boxes were stacked. She decided to set the box on another box, that was alone and in the very back. Only one thing on that box caught her eye, that read, "DO NOT OPEN" That was one thing that was tempting to Britt, signs that always said, "Do not enter" or "Caution" and most of all, "Do not open." Britt looked around the dark and dusty attic. Maybe Mommy wrote this...and wants me to open it...maybe its a new china doll that Mommy will get for me on Christmas! Britt thought. She kneeled down on her one knee. Is it worth it? Should I do it? Britt nervously bit her fingernails. Oh heck with it. I could close right back, and nobody will know. Slowly, and cautiously, Britt started opening the flaps of the box. Wonder what type of China doll this is! But what Britt thought, wasn't what she expected. Instead of a brand new China doll, it was a box. A box that was in the shape of a board game. Britt sighed. "She got me this? Instead of a China Doll? What is this anyway?" Britt slowly put her hands on the box, and took it out. "O....?....O-uija..." The way Britt pronounced it was, "Oh- uiji." Britt stared at the weird, never before seen board game. She never seen this in stores before. Is it a new game? Is it old? Britt didn't know. Out of nowhere, a musty stench ran through the attic room. Britt made a disgusted face, and held her nose. "I gotta see what this is..." Just as she started opening the box, a call from her mother came from downstairs. "Britt! Britt, you okay?" Britt shoved the strange game back inside the box, shutting back all the flaps. "Yeah! I'm coming!" The horrid stench still flew around the room. "Bleh!" Britt made her way carefully back downstairs, where her mother, father, and siblings waited for her. "Lets go get that pizza!" Britt yelled in excitement. The family made their way out the front door and to their van, ready to get their mouths on some delicious pizza. Not only did Britt have her mind just on the pizza, but also on the board game she discovered upstairs. She didn't know whether or not to tell her parents about the game, but she decided to go against it.

Little did she know....she released something.....something bad....terrifying....horrid.....something that wasn't happy about the Miller's visit........little did they know....they were in for a horrifying and chilling stay........
