|TWO: Normal POV|

Oliver wasn't holding Skylar or Bree, on the contrary they held him. Chase sat across from the three of them. He had cried but not as hard, he was in deep thought. Oliver knew he was blaming himself. He may not have the title leader but he still felt responsible for protecting them.

"H-how could he?" Bree asked through sniffles. "How could he do this?" She was angry, not at Kaz but at herself. Still she needed answers.

"How could I not help him?" Oliver asked. "I'm a horrible--"

"Shut up," Skylar told him. "You're a great, no amazing friend to Kaz. I'm the one who pushed him over the egde."

Chase shook his head. "No, I seen his sadness weeks ago and I didnt step up to the plate."

Bree slumped. "How could we when he didn't want to talk to us?"

That statement hurt Oliver harder than the others knew. They should all, but especially he and Kaz, be able to talk to one another. The fact that Kaz didn't feel secure enough to come to him or any of them is a sign that they all equally failed him. Now they sat in a hospital waiting room hoping they didn't miss their chance to try again.

"Excuse me, are you four with Kazimieras Daniels?" asked a female doctor.

The four anxious teens stood up and crowded around her. They prayed she had good news, the thought of her not made them tense and want to throw up. They wanted to burry their nemesis Roman and Riker, not their friend who they loved deeply.

"Is he okay?" Oliver asked. He wanted to know but then he didn't.

The doctor sighed. "He died once," she said reluctantly. That caused Skylar to cry out. Thankfully Chase kept her from falling over.

"No." Oliver felt the urge to punch something, anything.

Bree put a supportive hand on his shoulder. "Tell us there's a but after that statement ma'am," she practically begged.

"Fortunately sweetheart there is; we were able to revive him and now he's sleeping. He may be out of it for a few days, maybe even a week or so but your friend will be fine." The doctor smiled. "He's a fighter."

Everyone started hugging one another. They were happy to hear that Kaz's stubbornness came in handy.

"Can we see him?" Skylar asked.

The curly haired woman, who was short, pudgy, and cute like Perry, hesistated but gave them a warm smile. "This goes against protocol, but I'll let every single one of you go in. I know what its like to deal with this kind of thing. But after tonight his parents or guardian will need to show up."

"Yes, thank you," Oliver cheered, hugging her.

She chuckled and led them upstairs to where Kaz was. They were all afraid to see his condition but he needed them, Oliver especially was certain of this.

"Ready?" Bree asked him.

"No," Oliver said. Bree held his hand and the four of them finally entered the room.

Kaz was the shortest in the elite force but he was even smaller in his hospital bed. He was sleeping peacefully despite the nasal cannula in his nose. Oliver figured it was uncomfortable and wanted to remove it, he wanted Kaz to be as comfortable as possible.

"I love you, Kaz," he said, grabbing hold of Kaz's limp hand. He rubbed it with his thumb and squeezed just to let him know that he was there by his side like they had always promised to be.

"We all do," Bree added as she ran her hand through his hair.

Even Chase propped himself on the edge of the bed. Skylar was the only one distant. She stood by the door looking somber and guilty. She noticed Oliver staring at her.
