At my desk I sat going through some paperwork.

I had found a few interesting subjects about evolution that I wanted to make sure were ready for tomorrow.

"Prof Wixham, may I speak with you?" Asked a girl from my class.

Her name was Jasmine and she attended my classes.

Jasmine loved science and was a very optimistic person when it came to life.

I barely ever caught a frown on her beautiful face.

"Yes, surely you can Jasmine." I answered curving up my lips and beckoning her with a inviting finger curl.

She smiled my way shyly and took a seat at my desk. "Thank you professor."

"No, thank you for gracing me with your blissful presence."-I responded back as I leaned my elbows onto my desk and crossed my fingers-"Now what brings you here?"

"Its...just..." she stuttered out nervously, I knew it was me causing her uneasiness.

I was surprised she built up the courage to actually see me after class. I mean she barely spoke during my classes.

She was always an outstanding listener. she would never miss a word that I would say, not one.

"Look at me Jasmine."-I told her in a calm and low voice as I brought my index finger and middle finger together and placed them onto my temple-"You can tell me anything...I will not judge you dear."

Her eyes fixed on mine as I channeled through to her mind; calming her down a bit by forced influence...she didn't know I was.

Though I believed she could sense it a bit, she never spoke of it.

"Yes...I can, can't I?" Jasmine's whole demeanor changed drastically, right before my very eyes.

She was comfortable and I had something to do with it.

"Yes most definitely you can, now please..."-I agreed approvingly as I nodded my head and smiled widely-"Your question dear."

Jasmines eyes sparked a marveling glare as she side eyed me wonderingly.

"What?" I asked before spitting out a soft chuckle but she just stared and said nothing.

Finally after a brief moment of silence her lips parted a bit and then she asked "How'd you know it was a question that I wanted to ask professor?."

I let out a quick forced distracting cough before clearing my throat and answering "Well...I mean what else would bring you here to my classroom after school..."

Her eyes squinted a bit at me, I could sense the suspicion inside of her head.

She didn't believe me as I much I had hoped she would've.

"Alright...ha haha!" Jasmine responded brushing her hair back behind her ears and chuckling quietly to herself.

Humans are good at hiding their true emotions and thoughts.

She did have another question to ask but held onto it. She believed it would be a crazy question to ask...so she didn't.

But instead she asked the one that brought her to my class in the first place.

"Well...I just was wondering about what you said earlier in class..." She begun to explain as I sat listening in full concentration.

I loved watching her talk, her cupid bow shaped lips kept my eyes held completely hostage. at times I knew she would catch me and still I would continue on staring at them.

"About the evolution and mutation of humans right." I finished her sentence and she paused then gave a quick chuckle.

"Yes." She confirmed before wagging her head and continuing on to ask "And I was just wondering... if someone is born with a...I don't know...um...extra limb, is that considered a mutation from evolving?"

I look down at my desk and then back up to her before answering "Yes...its possible. Do you know someone with a extra limb, cause I know many weird people with some."

A sweet laugh escapes Jasmine's lips as she cups her mouth insecurely.

Why she hid her smile in the first place, I do not know. But what I do know is that she had a beautiful beautiful smile and I never did understand why she hid it.

But I do now.

"Why do you always hid your smile...its beautiful, a gift to mankind." I told her bouncing my brows and grinning toothy.

"Awe its not, I don't like to smile when I'm close to someone." She confessed as she hid her smile again behind her right hand.

"That's it...come here."-I said lowering her hand with mine as she forced her smile away-"No...don't do that!"

She had already closed her mouth and hid her smile again with her lips.

"Fine...have it your way."-I said giving up on trying to get her to smile-"Now back to subject...there are many cases of people with extra limbs. And yes most theories prove that it is caused by evolution and the mutation of genes."

She held back a smile from me, as I smiled into her face.

"That's amazing, but how does it really work though...like what causes the mutation in our genes?" She inquires curiously with a appealing look.

"Well...well let me explain." I said as I leaned back in my chair and begun explaining my theory to her.

It lasted for a few minutes and then we both headed home.
