"I've never seen such gorgeous eyes before."

I had never been fond of brown eyes. I always considered them boring, plain, and would never take a second glance at anyone with them.

That is, until I saw Elowen.

She scared me at first.
Tall, very muscular. A deep, accented voice. After the initial shock of her just appearing behind me, however, I noticed her eyes.

I've never seen such gorgeous eyes before.

They were a rich brown. Flecked with lighter spots throughout. I was captivated by them.

After that, I kept seeing her around town.
Nothing planned, I just saw her often.

On her own, with others. Always smiling. Always with a spark in her eyes. Carrying herself with so much pride.

It was like she could take on the world.

I've never seen such a gorgeous person before.

I was captivated by her.

As it turns out, our work started to become intertwined.

Elowen was an archeologist, working for a company with questionable morals, and I was the reporter assigned to their small part of the world.

She helped me out a lot.
Getting me out of situations where I was caught investigating places where I shouldn't be. Giving me information.

Somewhere along the line I realised that she wasn't exactly a good person. I could see that she tried to be, though, and I feel like that's all that matters.

It only made me more enraptured by her.

After one particularly eventful day, she invited me over to her place. Her tone flirty, her eyes seeking, hungry.

A part of me wanted to say 'no'.

That part of me knew that if I went with her, it would be over by the morning, and I didn't want that.

After all that time from when we first met, I was still captivated.
I was still infatuated with her.

She was a beacon. She shone in everything she did, and after she left town, it was like my life got dimmer.

I still wonder if it would be different if I had of said no. If I had asked for something more.

Maybe then I wouldn't be lonely, and she'd be sleeping next to me.

Thinking about it now, that's all I wanted.

That's all I've wanted for a while now.
