Muscadine Jack's in Tulsa
Singing them gospel blues
Just last night he started throwin' lightning
And the whole joint came unglued
Big Louie, man he's thick
Meaner than a possum and fit as a brick
When he starts drinking Ol' Abraham Lincoln's
Prob'ly glad that he's still dead
Beauty floated through like a river
A lethal vision of light
In a dress so fine she nearly froze my mind
She looked and smelled just right
The sound was steady and building
Jack's band tight as a drum
When Beauty and Louie set themselves to swinging
The joint fell deaf and dumb
Crazy Mama drifted in through the side door
Parting the sea with her smoke
All the cats were jamming and the chicks were slamming
And then the volcano broke
The mirror shattered into pieces
Someone pulled out a gun
When the chaos ensued I lost one of my shoes
But ditched the cops in a dead heat run
Muscadine Jack's in Austin
Singing them gospel blues
Just last night he started throwin' lightning
And the whole joint came unglued
