Emma's pov
I was just a toddler when that terrible night occurred.

I was asleep in my crib when the teenagers came up to our house.

I had my teddy bear, Mr. Nibbles, in my arms.

He made me feel safe, calm, and joyful.

I was having a good dream when I heard the smoke detector go off.

I woke with a start, holding Mr. Nibbles in my arms I started to cry.

All I could do was cry.

I heard my mother and fathers footsteps pounding down the stairs and the front door slamming.

They left me to burn.

I saw the flames rise up the stairs and then they started to emerge into my nursery.

The flames danced around the entrance to my room.

Their illuminating orange and yellow color was a beautiful yet scary sight.

The heat was starting to enter my room when a man in a fireman's turnout gear burst through the flames.

He saw me, picked me up, and cradled me in his arms.

I held on to Mr. Nibbles tight as we exited the burning building.

As soon as we got out of the house he took off his oxygen mask and said, "It's ok, you're safe now."

His voice was tough yet soothing.

He wiped the tears and ashes off my face, then handed me to the paramedics.

The fireman walked over to talk to my parents about what happened and how it happened.

Logan's pov
I was sitting at the fire station when we got the call.

"All units we have a report of a structure fire on 159 meadow drive set by a small group of teenagers." The dispatcher said over the intercom.

"C''mon Logan it's a simple house fire what are ya so scared of ?" My co-worker Mark asked me.

"I'm not scared just thinking." I said while I put on my turnout gear.

After we all get our gear on we hop in the fire engine, blast the siren, and head to the structure fire.

10 minutes later
We arrived at the structure fire just as two people were running out of the house.

Before the engine is fully stopped I jump out of the engine and run toward the people.

"Are you ok?" I ask them calmly.

"We were just in a freaking house fire! What the hell do you think?!" The woman said waving her arms around.

"Ma'am just calm down we will put out the fi..." All of a sudden I hear a toddler crying.

It was coming from inside the house.

I run off to the engine to grab my oxygen tank and mask.

"What the hell are you doing?!" The man said.

"Sir there is a toddler trapped inside that house I must go get her!" I said starting toward the house.

"Uuuhhh.. There's nothing else in that house." The woman said clutching her left arm and hanging her head.

I don't even listen to them I know there is a toddler trapped in that house weather they say so or not.

I burst through the burned front door and charge up the stairs.

I look in every room but there is no kid anywhere.

I was starting to loose hope when I saw an open door at the very end of the hall.

I run to the door and looked inside.

There was the toddler holding her teddy bear, curled up in a ball, and bawling her eyes out.

I run up to her and wrap her up in my turnout coat.

I sprint down the stairs and into the front yard.

I took off my oxygen mask and tell her, "it's ok now, you're safe now."

She has the most beautiful blue eyes.

I gently wipe off the ashes that mixed with tears off her face and she stops crying.

I smile and hand her to the paramedics.

"Can you please check her to make sure she's ok." I ask taking off my turnout coat.

"Of course Logan, but do me a favor and go have a word with her parents. I heard what they said to you." My best friend and paramedic, Zach, said grabbing a wash rag and soaking it with water.

"Oh don't you worry I will." I said.

I was pushing my anger to the max.

They left that poor, helpless, child to burn.

I walk up to the parents and get all up in their face.

"You told me that there was no child in the that building but there was. You didn't want me to look in the building so she would burn and she would be out of your hair but guess what she was saved and I'm filing a law suit against you for what you did." I said right in the fathers face.

"You can't file a law suit against us we didn't say that!" He snapped back.

"Oh yes you did I have it all on video and witnesses." I said crossing my arms.

The couple turned as pale as a ghost.

"B O O M bitches!" I said throwing my hands in the air.

"Logan get your ass over here!" Zach yelled hovering over the toddler.
