My branded heels click against the newly cleaned marbled floor as I walk towards the boss' office.
"I need all the documents on my table right now." I said when I pass by on the pre occupied marketing team of our company.
"Mr. Dela Vega, are you ready for your presentation later?" Tanong ko sa lalaking naka glasses who's busy observing the computer's screen. He looked at me and smiled widely.
"Yes, Mam!" He cheerfully answered. I nodded at his character, assured that I assigned a smart employee.
"Good. Wag mo akong ipapahiya mamaya sa board or else you're fired. Understood?" I reminded him and walk out without hearing his reply.
I enter my newly renovated office room. I noticed a paper bag imprinted with 'Blanc & Eclare' resting on top of my table and a sticky note beside it.
Goodmorning Mi Amore. Hope you like my gift! I love you <3
After I read the note, Someone opens the door. I look at the door to know who it is.
"Did you like it?" He asked me sweetly.
"Of course, why wouldn't I?"
"You don't like shades."
"Whether I don't like shades. Whether it's expensive or not as long as it's from you. I will like it."
I said sweetly to him and kiss him on the cheeks as a sign of my gratitude.
"That's so sweet babe. By the way I have to go. I just came here to check on you and our baby."
He said while holding my tummy.
"Take care. I love you! 😙"
After I said those words he bend his knees down and kissed my tummy then immediately leave my office.
*knock* *knock*
"Come in."
I said and my father-in-law shows up, My husband's father.
"Dad, I'm not expecting you today. Something's bothering you? Or there's a serious problem in the company that I missed?"
"Relax, Epekto ba yan ng pagbubuntis mo? You're overthinking too much. Anyway, I just want to give this plane ticket personally to you."
My eyes became wide because it's the first time I got a plane ticket from my father-in-law who never appreciated my existence.
"What is this for po?"
"Consider it as my gift for your baby shower. Kahit ayaw ko sayo, apo ko pa rin yang dinadala mo."
"U-uh t-thanks."
I said but he already left. He didn't even wait for my reply. I looked at the plane ticket he gave me. It's a ticket somewhere in the Philippines.
"Bagong trip ba to ng biyenan ko? Outing in the middle of bidding for the Delavin stocks? Hahaha." I said to myself.
"Ma'am Tori, Board members are waiting for you." My secretary told me.
"Kanina ka pa nandito?" Tanong ko baka kasi narinig niya yung sinabi ko at magsumbong pa tong sipsip na to sa biyenan ko.
"No ma'am kakapasok ko lang po." She said courteously.
Hindi ko na siya ulit tinanong so I took the path towards the conference room.
"Good morning." I said and sat on the swivel chair on the edge of the table.
I looked at Mr. Dela Vega and gave him a signal to start his presentation.
