Flash, Flash. (a drunk driving poem for TNPC)

I moved my tongue inside my mouth

Vodka printed me so loud

It numbed my ears, my mouth, and feels

But I could still feel my heartbeat

Buzz, buzz

I could hear no more

Putting a foot in front of the other,

Stumbling past all the drunk lovers

Blurry eyesight,

How many fingers do you see?

I counted one, two,

But couldn't make it to three

Down the boulevard

I parked my car

I almost tripped

While getting inside

My heel had broke

I fell to the floor

The taste of love

All over my tongue

I stomped on the pedal,

Leaving everything behind

I could've gotten a medal

But didn't have enough time

How many red lights can you see?

Passing two will not kill me

I'm pretty sure they're screaming "go!"

And that I should hear them on

Two spots of light

In the distance...

Or have they arrived?

They're getting closer

I'm grasping my life

But it slips between my fingers

Where the smell of tequila lies

I cannot breathe in

I think this is it

I'm holding death between my teeth

Remembering every single sin

They say that when you die

Your life flashes right before your eyes

But I could only see your smile

Hanging desperately to mine

I'll never see again

The flawless beauty of your face

And I'll never hear again

The high-pitched laughter of my friends

They told me vodka was the answer

To every problem unsolved

But it only gave me answers

I couldn't unravel at all.
