Raineys POV

I checked my appearance one last time in the full body mirror on the lavender colored wall of my bedroom. Tonight was the big summer bonfire beach party, and I wanted too look good seeing as I had just broke it off with my boyfriend a few days ago and am newly single.

I was wearing white denim cutoff shorts, and a black crop top that showed off my belly button and the small tattoo on my left hip, with my black string bikini underneath. I put in my hello kitty dangling belly button ring and slid on my black vans.

Running my hands through the the ends of my long curly brown hair, I grabbed my ray bans and placed them on top of my head. I took a fully body mirror selfie and posted it to twitter and Instagram. "bonfire time.. what up." After it posted I shoved my iphone into my back pocket and grabbed my car keys.

I left my room and locked the bedroom door behind me. I like to have my privacy and I have little siblings that tend to snoop in my things. "Mom I'm leaving!" I shouted as I bounced down the stairs.

"Fails attention s'il the plaît (please be safe)!" My mom called back to me.

"I will." I rolled my eyes even though she couldn't see me. She was always worried I was going to get in trouble like my older brother Jason did.

Jason is only a year older than me, 20, but he still got in a lot of trouble with drinking and drugs. He already left for the party an hour ago. I'm sure we'll bump into each other at least once tonight.

I started my car, and pulled out of the driveway. The beach was about a 10 minute drive from my house.

As I arrived at the beach a bunch of people were already here. I found somewhere to park and turned the engine off.

I took a deep breath as I checked my makeup in the rear-view mirror. Tonight was the first night in a long time that I am free to do whatever I want with who ever I want. And for some reason, I'm quite nervous.

I opened my car door and stepped out. Looking around, I saw so many familiar faces. I shut the car door and made my way into the sand over to where some of my friends were hanging.

"Hey Raine! You made it!" My friend Lila said tossing me a can of beer.

I caught the beer in my hand and popped it open, taking a swig. "Wouldn't miss the best summer party." I said joining the crowd and the conversation.

As I went to get another beer, I saw him smirking at me. My dick head ex, Austin. He started towards me, and before I could get away, there he was grabbing my wrist and pulling me into him.

"Stop Austin, Let me go!" I said trying not to raise my voice. But Austin was very aggressive, and he was hurting my wrist. "Oh hush Rainey. You know you like being this close to me." He snarled.

He was drunk, I could smell the alcohol on his breath. And that was not good for me. When Austin got drunk, he got even more aggressive with me.

I tried pulling away, but he just tightened his grip on my wrist. I searched around with my eyes, trying to find someone to help me. But nobody was paying any attention to what was happening.

Austin started to drag me off with him, my feet skidding in the sand. "Au secours (help)! SOMEBODY HELP PLEASE!" I pleaded at the top of my lungs. Before I knew it, somebody had gotten me out of Austins grip and Austin was laying on the ground holding his nose.

I looked around for the source of help, and spotted my brother Jason. " Mon Die (oh my god)!. Thank you Jason!" I ran in for a hug. But Jason wasn't done with Austin yet, he got down on top of him and started throwing punches.
