Life was always a whirlwind. Time and events passed without her knowing or caring or lifting a finger. People moved around her but she already seemed distant.

She sat in her room with a knife.

Her knife beautiful and threatening. Her words true and unfortunate. Her facade unbreaking and smile upon her lips.

Age 16 she was confident that she lived as much life as she was meant to. To continue on simply a waste of oxygen. In a grand scheme, there is 7 billion humans. Specks, really. "Living" on a huge planet. What was even the meaning of life? This planet is accompanied by a billion other planets. Those planets in nearby galaxies, likely containing other life forms. Billions of galaxies. Billions of homes of homes of creatures.

She was a speck. And that's how she saw herself.
