The chatter of classmates and bees filled my ears. ________ hasn't shown up yet; the knot in my stomach twisted tighter with each passing minute. I took off my backpack, dropped it, scattering pinecones and gravel.

*crunch crunch crunch*

I looked up from my Converse. There they were, a small smile on their perfect face. They nervously clutched the strap of their satchel as they finished walking towards me. I gasped quietly.
