I woke slowly to the sound of running water and the smell of smoke. Swearing under my breath I looked over to see my little sister still sound asleep and let out a little laugh; these were one of the few times she was still quiet but I had to wake her. After looking for something clean for a minute I decided to pull on a pair of extremely faded jeans and an old tank top. I decided to wake her the nicest way an older sister could think of. I crept over to the side of the bed she was on and grabbed the bed underneath where she was laying and picked straight up causing her to fall off to the floor. After a minute or two of mumbling I saw a head pop out of the blanket and before she could say anything I cut her off ,"come on squirt we gotta go or else Mary and Coop will burn the house down." Reluctantly she got up and I heard her say a prayer that whatever was made would be slightly edible. I laughed walking down the hall passing 4 bedrooms before coming to the bathroom. I flip on the light switch and put on my glasses and take a minute to look at myself. I'd never been the best looking person but I didn't look that bad. I had short blonde hair, my eyes were a light baby blue, and I was extremely pale but I guess I wouldn't know what guys think when the only one I'm ever around treats me like a baby sister.
I walk out of the bathroom finally able to see as Kennedy slowly dragged herself down the hall towards the kitchen stopping to look at me with her violet eyes and point at a room behind her and shrug before going around the corner going to the kitchen. I wait a second before walking over to the door she pointed at and knocked on the door. "Go away Chelby, I know it's you." I grinned but opened the door and poked my head in cautiously,"What's up Morogan?". She looked away from me and I went farther in her room surprised she could stay under a blanket with the heat but not mentioning it. "Silence could cut the world apart if-" ,to my surprise she threw a  book at my head. Upon closer inspection I saw it was her sketch book. Picking it up I looked at her she was hugging her knees. I flipped through a few pages a boy with angel wings with one blue eye and the other was black , a little girl with violet eyes playing in a field of daisies, the next one I stopped on and looked up at Morogan showing her the page, on it was like a screenshot from my dream darkness and all even capturibg my terror, "When did you draw this?" She didn't look just stayed hugging her knees. I sighed and sat by her setting the book down. We sat there in silence for a second before she looked at me only to look away I could tell she was sad even with her red eyes that almost everyone feared. So I did the one thing she wouldn't expect, I hugged her. She heated up but I wrapped her with my aura. My eyes turned to ice as I tried to cool her before she relaxed and allowed me to just hold her. We sat in silence before she said in her whisper tone, " I didn't draw any of those they show in my dreams." She looked up at me scared, "is something wrong with me?"
Normally I'd jump at the chance to make one of my siblings a target of bad humor but not this time I could tell she was scared of herself. I got up and pulled her up with me. Dragging her over to her mirror I made her look at her reflection. Her hair was an absolute mess of bed head but other than that I could see any boy would fall for her. She was just a few inches under me but she didn't hide her figure against mine where I had more muscle and strength she was delicate and dangerous.
"What do you see Morogan?"
"I see myself and I see you."
Stepping out from behind her I asked again ,"what do you see in yourself?"
She hesitated to describe herself but took a breath as she exhaled she described everything about her ." I see someone who is afraid of the world and everything around her, she has blood red eyes and ginger hair," she took another breath and continued," she has a family that keeps her safe because the world would fear her.,"she looked back at me," good enough?"
I nodded and looked at the door smelling food.
"Let's go get some breakfast sis." She smiled and followed without any opposition.
