Chapter 12

Shays POV

I walked into my apartment trying to be quiet. I didn't know whether my dad was home or not and I don't think he'd be impressed with me walking in the door at 2am.

I walked through the kitchen my heels clicked loudly on the tiled floor as I went.

"Shay?" I heard my dad call

I mentally cursed

"I'm just grabbing water dad" I called back before quickly rushing to my room

I sat down on my bed and ran my hands through my hair. My phone alerted me to a new text

Meet me at the docks

The message was from Jay i exhaled in slight frustration considering all I wanted was to sleep

I quickly wrote a reply and made my way to the elevator being as light as I could on my heels as I went

It was a warm night. The moon shone over Gotham city like a blanket of stars, the city was quiet and the wind blew lightly through the apartment buildings that lead the way to the docks.

I arrived at the docks and pulled out my phone I was about to type a message when I saw a figure walking towards me. The moonlight shone on his green hair changing the colour to a steely blue. He reached me and wrapped his arms around my waist.

"You do realise it's 2am right?" I asked raising my eyebrows

"I did see that" he replied

I yawned

"Your tired" Jay whispered

I nodded

"This isn't exactly normal time for a boat ride darling" I said with my last efforts of sarcasm

Jay laughed

"You can relax when we get on board love" Jay said leading me to one of the boats

Jay got into the boat first before lifting me over the small gulley of water that ran between the boat and the docks

Jay lead me into the boat. The inside was fully furnished with couches and a fire. I sat down on one of the couches, Jay smirked as I closed my eyes. Before long he came to join me and I lay down with my head in his lap.

"Sleep Shay, I'll wake you when we dock" Jay said as he ran his hands through my hair

I nodded, almost falling asleep straight away.

I woke in Jays arms he was carrying me up paved steps that led to a building

"Hey" I said dozily getting his attention

"Morning doll" Jay laughed

"Where are we" I asked as Jay put me down

"Nowhere near Gotham" he replied smiling

I grinned back as Jay intertwined his fingers with mine and lead me up the steps to a house

The house was a simple design but the inside held grand beds and shimmering chandeliers as if it was something out of Gatsby

"How many houses do you have" I asked

"Only a few here and there" he smirked

"Mmhmm" I replied

Jay rolled his eyes in a mocking fashion before pressing his lips to mine. His lips tasted like every dark delicious dream i'd ever had i opened my eyes momentarily to find Jay staring back. He kissed me more passionately slowly driving me backwards until i fell onto the bed behind me breaking Our kiss. I sat on the end of the bed one of my hands interlocked with Jays. his eyes lingered on me and I pulled him onto the bed Our lips connecting again. I paused to unbutton Jays shirt, once it was off he began kissing my neck I moaned as he left love bites along my body.

Jay reached for the zip at the back of my dress and pulled it off my body smirking slightly

"What" I whispered as he continued to kiss my neck

"I told you I'd like to enjoy the show" he said as his eyes skimmed over my body

"Shut up" I replied rolling my eyes

"Make me" he whispered

So I did, I  rolled on top of him quickly pressing my lips to his. He grabbed my waist and quickly discarded the rest of our clothes he pressed his body to mine until nothing separated us.

my nails dug deeply into the muscles in his back and his hands gripped my torso with such a pressure it was bound to leave bruises, Jay began to moan loudly as he took me over the edge with him.

I woke that morning to the sun shining straight onto my face i smiled slightly. My body was intertwined with Jays and my head rested on his chest I  lightly traced the outlines of his tattoos with my long nails. I lifted my head and gazed at Jays sleeping figure

"Enjoying the view" Jay asked keeping his eyes closed

I rolled my eyes

"Do you ever actually sleep" I asked sighing

"Nah its much more entertaining to watch what you do when you think I'm sleeping" he replied opening his eyes

"I was enjoying my tattoo massage darling" he winked

I scoffed rolling over creating distance between me and Jay

I heard him smirk as I felt his hands wrap around my waist. He pulled me over to him and lightly kissed my lips keeping his eyes open

"Your eyes are always open" I said breaking the kiss

"Your a little distracting love" he replied as he caressed my face

"Shay" he began

"Mmm"

"I love you"

I paused staring straight into his eyes. I knew saying it back would forever make me his but for some reason I couldn't resist those three little words

"I love you" I said wrapping my arms around his tattooed body before my lips met his.
