Chapter 3 - Torture (3.5 parts)

Start from the beginning

The wolf growled looking at the waterfall. When i heard a snapping of a branch in the forest behind me. I didnt dare take my eyes off the wolf. I have heard many stories about wild wolves in my village. How the wolves would rip anything apart, killing mercilessly. As i stared at the wolf i couldnt help but notice how beautiful it was. Its fur was a shiny deep black, eyes golden brown. He had a speck of white in the shape of a diamond on his right shoulder blade.

I heard something come through the waterfall and the wolf let out a growl that sounded like a threat to whatever it was to stay away from us.

"Chrissy, are you alright?" Danny whispered

At the sound of Daniels voice, I felt reassurance that i was going to be ok. I dont know how a 6 year old vampire made me feel safe, but he did. I slowly nodded still not taking my eyes off the wolf, and he not taking his eyes off Daniel. The wolf stepped over me, between me and Danny. I couldnt tell if he was trying to protect me from Danny or if he was trying to protect his meal from him.

A look of confusion crossed Danny's face when I looked at him. I am sure his face resembled my own. I was pulled from my thoughts when the wolf released a fierce growl towards Danny. Danny hissed towards the wolf and I couldnt help but hide the smile when he did that, i couldnt help but compare him to a little kitten. That was until Danny punched the wolf in the snout and grabbed my arm and threw me towards the waterfall.

'Wow' was my only thought. I didnt see that coming. When did Danny get that fast and strong and courageous. I stood there frozen at the scene infront of me. Danny and the wolf fighting. The wolf trying to get through Danny to me. Danny attempting to stop him. Danny hissed at him again and i saw his eyes turn a glowing blood red color. The wolf growled back at Danny and lunged for his throat. Danny again punched the wolf in the snout while screaming.

"RUN CHRISSY! RUN!"

So I did I ran out of the falls through the forest till i got to a tree. I climbed the tree and waited. There was no way i was leaving. The wolf was thrown through the falls and crashed into the tree that i was sitting in. I was afraid for this wolf. I mean he hadnt hurt me at all. And it looked like he was trying to protect me. Danny came out of nowhere and kicked the wolf. I heard the wolf let out a heart-breaking whimper and i screamed at Danny, while jumping out of the tree to stand between them.

"Danny, stop!" I screamed at him, but he didnt listen he just kept walking towards the wolf, so i grabbed his arm. He hissed at me staring at my hand on his arm. I quickly released him. And stepped back towards the wolf with the look of panic on my face. Danny looked at me and saw the panic on my face and assumed that he scared me. He stepped back away from the wolf. I looked down at the wolf and almost screamed when i heard him whimper. I didnt almost scream because the whimper, i almost screamed from what i saw.

"Danny go get me some water, now!" I screamed at him. He did as i told him and came back to me with water. I grabbed my satchel and grabbed the hurbs out of it and mixed them with the water.

When Danny threw the wolf at the tree. A branch impaled his side. His breath was labored and blood was everywhere. I couldnt let him die. He was still a pup, probably not much older than me or Danny.

I gently pulled the piece of branch from his skin. I grabbed my satchel and pulled out what i needed to clean and stitch the wound. I began my work at the wolf whimpered and Danny paced back and forth. When i finished the last stitch and cleaned all the blood away, i couldnt help but wish my mom was here, she would know a spell to do with the water and have the hurbs that would heal him instantly. I may only be five but with my mother as the head witch and healer of our clan i start learning at a very early age. Now i just know the basics, stitches, cleaning, and hurbs, i dont know any spells right now and that sucks.
