The Cast of DL

The beach

Subaru and Kanato were sitting in the living room extremely bored. "Tsk.... why is there nothing to do?" Subaru asked clearly annoyed.
It wasn't until their sister Lily suggested they go to the beach, that they perked up, "Let's go to the beach!"
Their friend Lex was sitting between Subaru and Kanato and looked at her in confusion, "What?"
"Let's go to the beach!"
"Why?"
"It will be fun!"
She looked at her, shyly, "Why?"
"Try... Kanato you're going to go!"
He looked at her excited, "Sure!"
"Tsk how bothersome... why must we go when I can take care of the flowers?" Subaru said clearly not wanting to go.
Lex still looked a little confused at the situation and got off the couch, boredly, "I don't understand what's going on... but okay!"
Lily cheered, "Yay!"
"Noooo." Subaru said rolling his eyes.
Lex still wasn't used to Lily and responded to her awkwardly, "I'll just roll with it."
Kanato smiled even more, "Can't wait!"
Lex smiled at the fact that Kanato was happy and just decided to join in on the fun.
When they made it to the beach Lily was showing off her new swimsuit and Kanato beamed at how nice it looked at her, "Nice outfit."
She smiled at him and said, "Thanks."
Lex looked at the beach and asked, "So, what are we going to do?"
Lily looked at her like it was obvious, "Swim."
Lex looked at the ground sheepishly, "I'm not very good at that."
Lily only looked at her, like it didn't matter one bit, "It's okay!"
Kanato smiled and sat down in the sand, "I'm going to make a sandcastle!"
Lex looked at him and said, "Okay."
Then, Lily responded with a quick, "Cool."
Lex looked at Kanato in what looked like jealousy and looked at Lily, "Can I make a sandcastle, too, instead?" She held her arm, shyly, "I don't want to drown..."
Lily gave her a look that said 'why are you asking me' and said, "Yes."
Lex ran over to where Kanato was sitting, yelling, "Okay!"
She started building a sandcastle near Kanato and he said, "Let's make a nice big one!"
She was taken aback by the fact that he wanted to help and said, "Yes!" Kanato started working on the moat and Lex asked him, "As big as the mansion?"
She giggled clearly thinking it was humanly impossible, but tried anyways.
"Yep!"
She smiled at how he accepted her idea, "Yay!"
They both concentrated on building the sand castle and Lex noticed Teddy and how he was getting covered in sand. "Oh no, Teddy's getting full of sand!"
He picked Teddy up and dusted the sand off him, "Sorry, Teddy."
Lex giggled from how much he cared for that little Teddy bear and reached into the tote bag she brought along, "I got a towel for him to sit on!"
Kanato placed Teddy on the towel she laid down and he looked at her, "Thank you."
She smiled, "You're welcome!" She looked at Teddy, "Now he'll stay nice and clean. Right, Kanato?"
He only agreed, "Yep, now let's finish this sand castle."
They both continued building a very immaculate sand castle and Lex stopped and looked at their progress, "I think it's an interesting design, don't you think?"
"Yeah." He sat back in the sand and looked at it, "I think it looks pretty nice."
Lex smiled at his words and sat back, as well, looking at how much of a good job they did. Kanato commented on how fantastic it was, "That should win a contest."
Lex agreed, then looked at Lily, "Yeah... what do you think Lily?"
Kanato took Teddy off the towel and hugged him as Lily said, "Cool!"
Kanato thanked Lily and Lex just smiled, then looked at Kanato, "What do you want to do now Kanato?"
He only shrugged, "I don't know..."
Lex thought for a second, "Hm... neither do I."
She giggled and playfully threw sand at Kanato. He tried to dodge it and yelled, while laughing, "Hey!"
They continued laughing and Lex apologized, "Sorry!"
Lily just watched the scene unfold before like she was watching a movie.
Kanato accepted her apology, "It's alright."
Lex looked at Kanato who was covered in sand, "Now you look like Teddy did."
She laughed and he only smiled, shaking the sand from his hair, "I do!"
He laughed as well and Subaru teased him, "HA! HA! You just got sandified!
"Oh yeah?" He sprinkled sand over Subaru head and laughed at him.
Subaru didn't seem too pleased about it, "Oi!" He threw sand back at Kanato and laughed at him, again, "HA!"
Lex giggled and threw sand at both of them. Then, Subaru's voice rose, "HEY!"
Subaru threw sand at both of them and Kanato screamed, dodged it and threw sand at both Lex and Subaru. "TAKE THAT!"
Lex blocked the sand, laughing, while Subaru wasn't struck at all by Kanato's sand, simply because he dodged it. It seemed like he got a little cocky and threw a sandball at both of them, "Missed! TAKE THAT!"
Lily walked over and said 'hi', as Kanato ran and got hit by Subaru's sandball. "Hello."
Lily and Subaru both laughed. Then, Subaru greeted his sister, "Hi."
Lily pushed Subaru into the water and he went, "Hey!"
She laughed at his reaction and he pulled her in, too. He laughed at her and she reacted by splashing him. Lex just giggled by how much sibling rivalry they had, together. Subaru splashed her back and Kanato just chuckled a little.
Subaru threw water at the two of them and Kanato just said, "Heh. You wanna play?"
He splashed Subaru back, from where he was standing on the beach and Subaru looked like he was having a lot of fun, from how much he was laughing, "Hehehe! HAHAHA!"
He looked at Kanato, when he realized he splashed him, "Oi!"
Lily and Kanato both laughed, then Subaru splashed both of them. Lex watched from the sidelines and then decided to run into the water and splash Subaru.
Lily went underwater and somehow had the strength to throw Subaru in the air. Kanato looked amazed, "Whoa!"
Subaru only looked either angry or absolutely terrified, "Oi!"
Lily laughed and when Subaru hit the water, safely, he pulled Lex under and she was terrified! When she came up Kanato was the only one to ask, "You okay, Lex?"
She only nodded and Subaru was like, "She should be fine..."
Lily finally pulled Kanato into the water, "'Ey!"
Lily at Kanato's reaction and Subaru reacted by going, "Ha ha, Kanato..."
Lex pushed Subaru over in the water, probably for payback when he dragged her under.
Subaru got up, "HEY!!!" The other three laughed at him. "Oh, so you wanna play, huh?"
Lily threw Kanato in the air this time and when he landed without a scratch he pulled her under. Lily laughed and Subaru threw a sandball at all three of them.
Lily's eyes widened, "Eep!"
Lex went, "Aah!"
and Kanato's reaction was, "Waah..."
Kanato picked up some sand and made his own sandball, throwing it at Subaru like it was a baseball or something. Lex fell underwater from the impact of Subaru's sandball. Kanato looked at her, "Lex!"
Lily and Kanato helped her up and she whined, "Ow..."
Subaru looked at Lex, clearly sorry, "You okay, Lex?"
"Yeah... just a..." Her eyes widened. "CUT!"
Kanato looked at her, "Oh no."
Luckily, Lily was a good vampire and possessed healing abilities, because she healed Lex's cut. Lex looked at the water, "Stupid shells..."
It seemed like Lex's cut had a lasting effect on Subaru, even though the cut was healed and he smelled the air, "I NEED YUI!"
Lex looked at Lily, "Thanks."
Lily smiled at her, "No problem."
Lex snapped at Subaru, "Subaru... throwing sandballs in the ocean is dangerous!"
Lily laughed and Kanato remarked that, "Sandballs are hard to make."
Lily burst out laughing really hard, wiped away a tear and Lex asked, "They are? Subaru must be very talented then."
Kanato looked at her and shrugged, "Yeah, I guess..."
Lex looked at Lily, "Lily, why are you laughing so much?"
"I don't know."
"Oh."
Kanato started laughing for no reason at all and so did Lex.
After a while Lex ran over to a towel and sat down, shivering. Kanato walked over and put a towel around her. She only smiled at him and said, "Thank you."
"You're very welcome."
Subaru walked over and complained, "LET'S GO HOOMEEE!!!"
Lex smiled wider and Kanato agreed, "Okay."
