"What did you hope to accomplish by exposing yourself Luciana?" Mr. Woodrow demands.

"Nothing really, I just wanted to see if the council would keep their promise of putting me in the Cage," I say with a smirk.

"Well now we have no choice, what were you thinking Luciana?" Julie scolds.

"I was thinking about how you were going to take away my only friends in over a decade and how I'm tired of being beaten up because they think I'm a criminal," I say and her face falls.

"Well now you have to go to the Cage and you will stay there for the remainder of your life," Mr. Woodrow snaps.

"Well, it looks like you finally got what you wanted then," I spit just as the doors to his office are thrown open. "We all know you didn't want me here in the first place."

Several council member step inside and my heart pounds at the sight of so many familiar faces.

Nearly a dozen guards follow them in and surround me. One grabs my arms and yanks me up off the couch, locking my wrists in handcuffs behind my back.

Jakob stands in front of me, his eyes cold. "I vouch for you and this is what you do with your second chance?"

"I couldn't do it any longer," I snap.

"I hope it was worth it," he retorts as they push me out the doors.

I let them drag me through the empty halls without a fight. The grip the guards have on my arms is borderline painful, but I don't resist.

Once out the main doors, I let out a sigh of relief. A sense of freedom washes over me. I'm finally leaving this place.

They bring me to a black vehicle and shove me into the back where I am chained to the floor between two massive guard angels. One look at their painted gold wings tells me they are the top enforcers. They're the ones they send to transport the most dangerous criminals in the world.

I let out a sharp hiss when a collar is locked firmly around my neck that is so short I have to stay keeled over. The chains attached to my handcuffs pull me backwards at the same time and I close my eyes to quell the panic coursing through me. I try to calm my furiously beating heart but I'm trapped. I can't move or even stand; the restraints force me to remain on my knees.

Apparently, they think I am just as dangerous as werewolves, vampires, and all the other creatures that aren't angels. Or at least dangerous enough to need five guards with me, plus the driver who I wouldn't doubt is a trained guard as well.

I open my eyes, letting out a slow breath. "Do I really look like that big of a threat?" I ask the man beside me as we start moving. He keeps staring straight ahead, not even showing a sign that he heard me.

The truck hits a bump and I bounce on the floor, nearly losing my balance. The only thing that keeps me upright are the chains. "Fuck," I groan, pain coursing through my wrists and neck. "Can you assholes loosen these?" I ask angrily, feeling blood drip down to my hands where the metal cuts through my skin.

They remain silent and still.

"Loosen these you bastards!" I yell, yanking on the chains. An elbow smashes into my face and I fall sideways, gasping as I land awkwardly on my shoulder.

"Stop moving."

I grit my teeth, struggling to get back onto my knees. I look over at the guard and spit the blood onto his pristine uniform.

His gaze drops down to mine, fury written all across his face. "Do you have a death wish?" He grits out.

"The universe isn't that kind," I snort. I start shaking the chains again, experimentally giving them a few tugs.
