First Day Of School

Rae waited outside of East River Junior High School for the bell to ring. Rae was now an eighth grader, and she knew what to expect. Or did she?

"Rae!" Screamed Rae's best friend Tori as she ran to her.

"Hey! What's up? I'm so happy to see you!" Rae cried as she hugged Tori.

Tori looked at Rae confused then sighed, "I saw you almost everyday of the summer at softball!"

"Oh yeah..." Rae giggled to herself.

"Oh and by the way you have been doing much better hitting wise and I think-" she started when she was cut off by Tori.

"Woah! I just got a text saying that there are ALL brand new teachers this year!" Tori exclaimed.

"What?! Oh yeah!" Rae shouted enthusiasticly.

The bell rang and the administrators began to let everyone into the school. "What the heck?!"

Tori and I had lockers right next to each other, and our first period class. As we pushed our way down the crowded halls to our lockers, as we began examining the school.

"What the heck?!" Shouted Tori.

"Where did East River go?" She asked very confused.

"What do you mea-" I stopped, then I took a look around, Tori was right, where did our school go? Everything, yes EVERYTHING, was different.

The floors were different, the walls, the lockers, the doors, the desks, well tables now. Why did everything change? First the teachers now this? What...the...heck?!

I mean don't get me wrong the new look was legit but I was just so confused!

Tori and I reached our lockers and put away our backpacks. We grabbed our binders and headed to class.

Tori entered the classroom first and I followed right behind her.

We entered the class and I followed her right to a table on the front. We placed our binders down and jumped atop our Spinny chairs.... Wait what Spinny chairs? Nice! This place is awesome!

Tori and I examined the classroom we were in. We saw posters of Indians, British people and other old stuff. We took a guess and said this was history.

A few minutes later the bell rang and a tall handsome boy ran in to the room right before the teacher closed the door.

There were no seats left in the cramped room so he had to sit with Tori and I. I didn't want to make eye contact so I counted how many students were in the room. As I counted I noticed that there were plenty of other seats opened.

Why did he sit with us? I mean we are girls and there are lots of guys at other tables. He would fit in if he went there.

The teacher introduced herself as Mrs. Nalor, then she began to pass out a get to know you sheet. I took a quick look then got out a pencil. The teacher instructed us to grab a partner, but there was a catch. We had to be in groups of one boy and one girl. Dang it!!

The boy at our table asked if I would like to pair up with him. I felt my face slowly heat up as a responded, " Yeah, sure!"

"Great!" The boy replied

I watched as Tori got up and looked around every one was paired up with someone, but wait... There was one kid sitting at the very back, middle table. He winked and said, "Sup, Tor. Looks like it's just you... And me..." He smirked

Oh crap!
