The world hadn't keeled over like another lamb to the slaughter, ordinary folk in other countries had contact with one another, and my life hadn't turned upside down.
Ever since the fuel crisis ended with the outlawing of the use of fossil fuels, the world turned it's head toward the aftermath of all of those years of using fossil fuels. Still holding on, like nuclear fallout. Global warming.
The problem with global warming is that reversing the effects could potentially take years to even invent the technology, let alone test it thoroughly and then use it. By that point, we'll all be burnt strips of bacon. But one man stood to challenge this. A budding scientist I had grown to know over the years as Dr. Evan Avenall.
He dressed way too smart for his profession, always obsessing over his appearance. He was known to spend up to twenty minutes getting ready for his job. His personality was selfless at best, and selfish at worst. He spread word that he was working on something big, but never told what it was. Only 7 days before this all began, did he release his idea. It was unheard of, seemingly impossible, and almost never going to work.
