chapter 1 "harsh stares"

oh, alex.

your hands are bruised from gripping your pencil too hard.

your hair is so weak from the constant hair pulling you do on a daily basis.

your heart is the opposite from the others. theirs is red, and yours is blue.

how I wish that he can have each other, so that we can make our hearts beat and melt into each other to make purple.

then all of our worries will blend into the sky and go away in a heart beat.

i only have eyes for you, my dear.

after all, i am the one who looks at you everyday in english class.

your hair's so soft and fluffy whenever you're not grabbing fistfuls of it. i always liked the length of it, makes you look young and innocent. it accentuates your sharp jawline, making me so breathless.

your pink lips are so delicately soft and are red in certain places. i've seen the blood threaten to spill from your lips whenever you peel off the skin.

baby, you shouldn't harm yourself any further.

a lilac hue stains harshly under your weary eyes, sending me into a trance whenever i stare hungrily into them. looking at your eyes makes me want to find what you really hide behind those beautiful brown orbs.

you've probably seen so much due to how broken you are at this moment.

you're always whining about something, but i don't mind, i've grown used to it. everyone has.

hearing your rough voice when you're forced to talk to someone.

it's so low and hypnotizing, making my heart drop into the depths of my stomach whenever i hear your voice.

i always often wonder how you will sound like in a laughing matter.

will it still sound slow? will it be full and luscious like it already is? will it perk up and become soft again?

for me it will always be a mystery.

for when you do laugh, we will never know.

i long to wait for the day when i will speak to you. you did once, but only told me to fuck off whenever i was in your way.

i'm sorry, did i make you upset? i would never forget the look you gave me, even though it wasn't positive at all, you still made me anemic to the point that I couldn't think straight.

but besides that, you still talked to me in some way or another. sure, it wasn't a double sided conversation, but it was still something.

baby blue, i want you to know that life's not out to get you.

you have so many names. they're all horrible.

mardy bum, a girl who's on their period, a whiney bitch.

but to me, you will always be known as baby blue, as much as you and i both despise that nickname.

it just fits you somehow.

it sounds so innocent when you think about it.

baby blue is such a calming color, it's also the color of that denim jacket you carry around with you outside of school hours.

but like everything else, it has a meaning.

baby because you whine about everything, and blue because you're sad and moody all the time.

-m.k.

MILES shut his notebook after he was done venting about baby blue. He finally decided to listen to what the teacher had to say after he perked up whenever his teacher had said his name out loud.

"Miles, care to share what you were writing?" She said, smirking to herself as she saw the sudden change of color of his cheeks. He can already tell that his cheeks are stained red, he doesn't a mirror for he's blushed so many times before.

He shook his head vigorously, "No, I'm fine," he said, his voice wavering a bit from the sudden outburst from the teacher.

She was fed up with his shenanigans. If you were her, you would be too. She's told Miles about 5 times this week to stop daydreaming or to stop writing whenever she was talking. She's just done at this point.

"You know what? Why don't you move up next to Alex?" She said calmly, patting the empty desk.

Miles internally groaned. He just finished writing a small story about him and the things he admires about him, but now he has to sit next to him.

But alas, he hesitated and got up. He carried his bag by one strap and walked around his desk to get on the opposite side of where Alex was sitting. Nobody wanted to sit next to him, hence why the seat was nice and open for anyone daring to sit in it.

He quietly shuffled into his seat as everyone looked at him. Probably everyone in the room feels sympathy for him, he now has to sit next to the school alien. He was blushing like a madman, the heart around his face and neck suffocating him.

He made himself comfortable in his seat, catching small glances to the boy sitting next to him.

The weird thing is, is that Alex was staring at him the whole time. His eyes were narrowed and Miles could feel the way his eyes were roaming all over his body. It made Miles uncomfortable to no extent, so much that he felt too hot in his school uniform or to even do anything.

He was being silently judged by baby blue and there was nothing he could do about it.
