Led Down the Wrong Path with the Right Promise

"Now, now. I believe we got off on the wrong foot..." He started before I cut him off.

"Oh, is that what you call locking me up in a room for a full 24 hours? I suppose we can call that 'the wrong foot'" I spat back.

"I believe we can move past this..." He continued before I cut him off again.

"I don't believe we can. What the hell are you doing here?" I asked snippy.

"Well, I wanted to wait until all of you ladies were here, but since your teacher has left you... go figure, I'm your new teacher." He answered and of fucking course. Just my luck we get stuck with the Great Value James Bond as our new Cov' Ops teacher. Amazing. Yes, I'm horrified by the fact that he's our new teacher but I had more important questions to ask him.

"What do you mean by that?" I asked, stepping closer to him.

"It means... I'm your new teacher." He repeated, a little slower.

"No, not that! Obviously you're our new teacher, I'm not a fucking idiot. You said go figure when mentioning that Mr. Solomon left. What did you mean by that?" I asked, my patience growing thinner by the second.

"I mean, it was only a matter of time before he walked out on you guys. He's not a very reliable person. And his past isn't that great. We all knew this was going to happen." He shrugging and it seemed like he meant that last statement directed to me.

"He's been working at this school for years, and how dare you? You have no idea the type of person he is or the type of agent he is? I mean come on, you look like you've barely graduated from college and you have the audacity to speak about someone who has done more for the intel community than you can ever hope to achieve in your life!" I snapped, anger coursing through my veins. I don't know why I'm even defending him after finding out what I have, but something in me spoke before I could even have a chance to think.

"I didn't mean to offend you, Operative White. I'm simply stating that he's garnered quite the reputation in his time as an agent. A past that seems to have come back to haunt him." Agent Kingsley held up his hands in surrender and I backed down.

"Do you know things? About his past?" I asked. I think he could sense the desperation on my tone because he simply shook his head.

"I don't believe that I'm the one who is supposed to be telling you these things." He answered, knowing he wasn't giving me what I was looking for.

"Why would you even bring it up if you weren't prepared to answer my questions about it? I am going to find out what's happening and you can either help me or stay out of my way." I snarled before hearing the door open and light chatter entered the room. I took a few steps away from him.

"I want to help you, Daniela. I do." He replied in a hushed tone. Trying, and failing, to not garner any attention from our newcomers.

"I'll believe it when I see it, Theodore." I turned on my heels and headed for my seat, noticing my friends already in their seats.

"What were you guys talking about?" Jess asked.

"Just welcoming him to the school." I answered, looking at Agent Kingsley who was looking dead at me before averting his attention to the class.

"Hello. Now you guys may be confused right now and wonder who I am." He announced, walking up to the front of the class.

"He's hot." Dee whispered. I hate to admit it but that man, that British asshole, was very attractive.

"Well, I'm sorry to be the one to break the bad news but I must. Your teacher, Mr. Solomon, has left. I can't disclose the reasonings behind his sudden absence, but we don't foresee him coming back for a while. So now, since he's gone, I will be taking his place as your Covert Operations teacher." He ended with a smile.
