"Dan, honey?" My mum called, distracting me from my Winnie The Pooh book. She said that I'm quite smart for a four year old.

"Yeah?" I cocked my head.

She took a seat beside me, "I think you're old enough to understand this now. Have you ever heard me, or daddy, talk about colors?"

I thought for a moment before nodding, though I don't understand what that word means, "I think so."

She smiled before continuing, "the reason you don't see these colors yet is because of something called the soulmate system. When you meet your soulmate when you're older, once you two have your first kiss you'll be able to see colors! Right now what you see are shades called black, white, and grey."

I widened my eyes in surprise. Colors? I want colors!

"Are you and daddy Soulmates then?" I asked.

"Yes we are," she confirmed with a smile, "and one day, when you're older, you'll find your soulmate too. When the timing is right."

She ruffled my hair before leaving me to my suddenly bland book. What colors are in front of me that I can't see? I want to find my soulmate!

I don't want to wait for the 'right' timing, it shouldn't be too hard to gain colors.

I can't wait till I get to see the world like my mummy and daddy.
