(2) When a HeartBreaks It Don't Break Even

Jackson threw his arm behind Kat's chair. Kat looked about ready to die. Paxton did the same for me. This is going to be a long year.

That was four years ago. In that short amount of time Kat became a professional Dancer but still stays in school and manages homework.

I still smiled recalling the memory. I was walking up to the school entrance and see Kat running by trying to hide her face with her hair. It didn't work. I knew she was crying and I know that she hated crying in front of other people. I ran after her. She unlocked her car and sat in the drivers seat and put her face into her hands. She leaned her head against the wheel. I knocked on the window hopping that she would roll it down for me. And luckily for me I'm the only person she's ever cried in front of. Sadly she angled herself away from me away me. I walked the car and sat in the front seat. Hm wonder why it didn't lock?

"So why ya crying" I said cringing at my own words. Knowing how stupid they sound but that's okay cause I can be stupid around her.

"Calli, she finally did it" she choked on every word trying to stop her crying.

"Who finally did what?" I said knowing exactly what she meant.

"Lexi. She finally kissed him." She sobbed. I felt the anger inside me boiling up. Lexi the meanest mean girl who has had a thing for Jackson ever since she knew Kat liked him. All Lexi wants is to make everyone miserable.

"I'm gonna kill her." I said venom dripping off each word. I was about to get out when Kat dove for my arm and held it in a firm grip.

"Please don't! I don't need to get embarrassed even more" she said faintly. She put her feet up on the dash and rested her forehead on them looking defeated. I was at a loss for words. I have never seen her this upset. Even after everything about her jacked up family. She has stayed strong and always looked on the bright side, but I no longer see that. And it makes me mad. My blood started to boil. And I felt the strong urge to fight someone. One particular someone actually.

"So your just going to sit here and take this! You need to get back! And show her who's boss!" I almost yelling at her. I see her flinch at me raising my voice, so I move my voice to a softer tone. "Kate she's gonna walk all over you if you don't fight back."

"How Callia?! She doesn't have a weakness! I can't break her like she breaks me! So please let it go!" She screamed. She finally broke and I can and will put the pieces back together after I burn the hell out of Lexi. Even if I get expelled for it no one and I mean no one will hurt my best friend like this and think they can get alway her it. I looked over and saw tears streaming down her face and she hugged her legs to her chest even more.

"Oh honey" I said sympathetically. I reached over and hugged her.

"Have you seen the way he looks at you since you were in 7th grade?" I asked her. She shook her head unknowingly. I know she hasn't noticed because he never wanted her too, I saw the way he peered at her when he thought know one was looking. I caught him staring when we walked through the hallway or in the cafeteria. Like he thinks I don't know it's him who puts the random bags of m&m's in her locker before school. 

"He has looked at you with a light in his eye and a smile on his lips. You can see the way he feels about you just from the looks he would give and there's no way in hell that he would kiss her. Even if he did he knows I would beat the living crap outta him." I say to her still in the hug. "Now there's some business I need to take care of. You go home I'll just tell the teachers you just got sick." She just nods and turned on the car letting me out first. I walk into the school taking long strides until I reached the auditorium where everyone is at this hour.

"She send her little body guard to take care of all her problems." Lexi said mimicking a baby voice. She stood in her mini skirt and crop top think she looked so sexy. But she's just a damn slut with some internal issue, but one who's about to get the biggest butt whooping of her life I bet she's never even been punched. Well she gonna need another nose job after I'm done.

"You knew she was standing there and still did it?" I said. I was astonished that someone would stoop that low.

"I have no idea what you are talking about." she said looking at her nails uninterested in the conversation.

"You little son of b-"  I yelled drawing back my fist. I threw the punch. Hearing a satisfying crunch that I'm sure came from her nose. I felt someone place there hand on my arm. I whipped my head around and saw Paxton's hand resting on my upper arm. He held a sadness in his eye for Kat I could see it. Before that he kinda sputtered because my hair got in his eyes and mouth.

"She's not worth your title Ms. President." He said. I turned to Jackson and let out a irritated growl.

"She waited for you." I said in a disappointment voice. Walking up to him.

"She waited for you!" I yelled. And slammed my fist onto his chest repeatedly hoping it would someway pound in the fact that she loved him. .

"She did?" He whispered. I was pulled into Paxton's chest.

"Dude are you blind?!" Paxton looked at him astonished. He wrapped his arms around mine as I let my forehead fall against his chest letting the tears fall down my cheeks. Tears for my best friend.

"Always and you go after the backstabbing trader." I said pulling my head up and body away from Paxton walking away to my first class. I can't without Kat here. She really does to much to help me through the day.
