      rick when he's been trying to get through to you on your walkie talkie for days, after you had gone missing on a run, and all he had received was a period of radio silence. twice a day, at the crack of the dawn and at the first sign of nightfall, he tries to get through to you. hoping you'll finally answer.

     and then you do.

     your gravelly voice cracks through on the other end, small, weak, a fluttering whisper from the box. rick sighs in relief, he breaths out a breath he had not known he was holding, his heart beating fast and he wants to smile, he wants to tell you how the worry was driving him mad, making him sick. but he stops himself, knowing you weren't safe yet, not until you were in his arms again.
