"Are you okay?" Lucas asked, as he took a sip of his champagne.

"I don't know," Farkle sighed, "One minute, I'm bitching about a charity event and the next minute... I have a baby boy. My life changed so fast."

Lucas had a slightly sympathetic look on his face, "Yeah..."

"And how about you?" Farkle raised an eyebrow at him.

"What about me?" Lucas frowned, after taking another sip of champagne.

Farkle shrugged, "You saw Maya again. How's that feel?"

Lucas chuckled, "I don't know. Weird, I guess." He honestly didn't know. It was awkward, but it felt sort of nice to see her again.

"I guess," Farkle said, as he downed the rest of his champagne.

Williamsburg, Brooklyn, New York

"That was a nightmare," Riley groaned, after putting Nathan to sleep in her bedroom, "An awful nightmare."

"I tried to end it," Maya shrugged, as she picked at her slice of pumpkin pie, "but hey, at least something good came out of it." She used her foot to point to the hairbrush that was on the coffee table.

"Maya, what am I supposed to do? Am I supposed to call him? I mean, yeah, Nathan is his son, therefore he has the right to see him but I just don't want to get involved with him again," Riley started to pace around, "I don't want to get close to him anymore."

Maya sighed, "Well, Riles, you have to think logically. Do you want him in your son's life?"

Riley hesitated and then responded, "Every child deserves a father."

Maya nodded, "Okay. Do you want him in your own life?"

Riley paused to think about that, "I... I shouldn't."

"So you do?" Maya raised an eyebrow.

"I don't know, Maya," Riley sighed, "I kinda do and then I don't. All I know for sure is that I shouldn't want him in my life."

She stopped pacing and said, "He... he dumped me just because I wasn't a Manhattan elite and he completely erased me from his life. He hurt me so much and I've been heartbroken about him for a year now. I can't just let him back in easily."

"Make it hard for him, then," Maya said, as she chewed on pumpkin pie, "Be extremely difficult to deal with so that he can earn his spot in your life again."

"But I don't know if I necessarily want him back in my life again," Riley sighed, "It seemed impossible yesterday but today, it's a possibility. I can't do this, Maya."

Maya gave her longtime best friend a knowing look, "Riley, everything will be alright."

"I doubt it," Riley shook her head, "Farkle already showed interest in Nathan. He wants to see him tomorrow. Now that he knows he has a son, he won't forget it. He won't forget me."

"Well, just because he's in his son's life doesn't mean you two necessarily have to be together," Maya reminded the brunette, "Don't think too much into it, Riles."

Riley sighed, "I worry too much. I'm not even 30 years old and I probably worry more than a middle aged man looking into retirement. I just want time to stop so I can think."

Maya looked up at her, "Riley, everything will be okay. I know it will. Nathan will be just fine."

"I hope," Riley sighed, "I lost Farkle. I can't lose Nathan, either."

Maya highly doubted it that Farkle would ever try to engage in a custody battle with her, "You won't. You can do this once again with him."

Riley smiled a small smile, but in her head, she was exploding with thoughts.

Could she really do this?

Sab's album announcement! Exciting! I don't stan Sab but still :)

Anyway, I hope you all enjoyed this chapter! It's a little on the shorter side only because I didn't want to put too much with the already long, dramatic scene.
