AN: Again guys I'm warning you, this story isn't brilliantly written. Read my new one "Human Error" which I believe is better, more planned out and filled with angst and fluff!!

"Get out." Is all that John says. I look at Sherlock and see that he's shocked at first. I can tell that wasn't the reaction he was getting.

"What?" He asks, almost a whisper.

"Get out." He says immediately, then takes a deep breath and adds, "Please."

"This is the apartment that I offered you to share with me."

"Sherlock, you haven't been here in three years!" He suddenly snapped, "I thought you were dead!"

"Ah... about that—"

"Get out."

Sherlock raises his brows, "But... Where will I stay?"

"Where ever the hell you've been staying for the last three years!"

I shift on my feet awkwardly- which for some reason makes Sherlock snap his head at me in amusement.

"When did she get here?"

"She been here all this time." John mumbled, "We met up with each other three years ago and she's been living here since two years ago. She's been here, unlike you."

"I see." Sherlock said, "She's my replacement."

"What? No!" John hissed, "She's my friend. I had no one when you...died."

"But I didn't die."

"Well I didn't know that!" John shouted then turned to me, "Please, Holland, get him out of here." He demanded softly, shaking his head in disbelief before going back to his room. I hear his door slam shut, so I turned towards Sherlock then pointed to the door.

"Out."

"You can't tell me what to do in my home."

"I knew you behaved like a child but seriously, this is pathetic. You can't show up three years later after your 'death' and expect everyone to be fine with it."

"You're right." He said, "Maybe I should have given him more time."

I rolled my eyes, "Just leave." I ordered, starting to push him out the door.

"But I have nowhere to go."

"Yeah you do." I carried on pushing him out the door. Once he was out he turned around and faced me and stopped me from closing the door in his face.

"I couldn't afford the rent so I got kicked out."

"Find somewhere else then."

"I can't!" He snapped, "Please, I understand the situation is like and I can't begin to understand what John must be feeling right now. But I have nowhere else to go."

"I can't let you stay here." I frowned, feeling sympathy towards Sherlock even though there was a chance that he was trying to manipulate me in letting him stay. I've been told many times that he was a great actor. "Not with John. It would tare him apart."

"I could try and make things better?" He asked but it wasn't a question, he wanted to try and make things better for the both of them, but was unsure on what he could do. I didn't even know what he could do. I sighed.

"I don't know..."

"I'll get the milk and stuff!" He added, "And if you wish I'll help figure things out between you and your brother."

"How did you-?" I was about to ask but then I realized that this is Sherlock Holmes, "I can't let you stay just so you can help me. What about John? Sherlock, he will literally throw his first through your face!"

"...I have nowhere else to go." He said again, quieter this time, "You'll understand that, John too."

I groaned and mentally face palmed myself before opening the door wider for him to come in. I wasn't letting him stay here unless John wanted him too, but there was no harm in allowing him stay the night until he figured things out for himself. He walked in straight into the living room and sat on the sofa. Well, make yourself at home then, I thought.

"What's your name?" He asked, tapping his foot of the ground nervously like John would emerge from his room any moment.

"I'm pretty sure John had already said my name in front of you." I said.

"Wasn't paying attention to that sort of detail."

"I'm Holland."

"Holland?"

"Just Holland."

"You don't have a last name?"

"Yeah."

"What is it?"

"I don't want to tell you." I said, sitting down onto the other sofa. I could tell by his facial expression he was annoyed at me for being stubborn. And for some reason I liked to annoy him, so I gave him a big, playful smile. "Guess."

"You want me to deduce your surname?" He asked, disgusted, "How can I figure out your surname?"

I shrugged, "I don't know, you tell me." I smirked. I heard plenty of things about Sherlock Holmes to know he can deduce things pretty quickly. I'd like him to deduce my surname, this should be fun.

"Austin?"

"Nope." I replied, popping out the 'p'.

"Whitehouse?"

"Nah."

"I don't have time for this." He said like a moody child, "I need to figure out what I'm going to say to John."

"Nothing you can say to John will help the situation." I commented, but he ignored me. Rude. "Are you even listening?" I asked again, but he stayed in the same position, which consisted of him with his eyes closed and his hands clasped together in front of his face as though he was praying, "Sherlock-"

"Shush." He hissed, "I'm in my mind palace."

"Mind pala— Okay." I said, already done with him. How could he figure out a speech in his mind palace? I have no idea how John put up with him in the past. Sherlock quickly snapped his eyes open and faced me.

"Think. If you were in my place what would you do?"

"I don't kn-"

"Come on!"

"I'd tell the truth, or give him space. I don't know! I haven't had a chance to think it through."

"But the truth is... well, it's not something he would like to hear."

I squinted my eyes together and stared at him. Sherlock Holmes is not what I expected. I thought he would be a clever know it all, which he is, but he acts... differently. Like he's a machine more than a human. Maybe it was the nerves of him facing his best friend? I don't know.

"No matter how much the truth hurts, it's always better than being lied to." I told him, meeting his gaze. "It probably scares John how quickly you integrate yourself back to his old life."

Sherlock stares at me for a short while, as if he was thinking something through — probably thinking about what I just told him. Why is it that this guy acts so strange yet interested me? I don't think he normally acted like this. He's jumpy and impatient, I just hope I don't get stuck between all of this.
