You Can't Pair Me With Him!

It was every other day for Erin Lindsey as she arrived at the district in her black Jeep, parking it out the back in the civilian bays she walked through the doors which came in at the lobby.

"Morning!" She called out to Platt smiling

"Hurry up and change you're baby sitting today" called Platt as Erin turned her lip up at the thought

"You're kidding me right?" She asked walking over to the desk

"nope Voight's had he's eye on this guy since the academy and reckons you two would work well together. Remember this is all to get you where you want to be be" said Platt as Erin looked down and sighed

"So i'm not with Burgess today?" She asked

"Sorry kid" Said Platt as Erin shrugged walking away to get changed. She walked into the change room to see Burgess talking with Ruzek

"Hey you two" she said as they sprung apart. She laughed before rolling her eyes and changing to her uniform. 

"Heard you're baby sitting today" said Ruzek

"Yeah Voight thinks we'll make a good pair" she said huffing

"To be honest I had a damn good partner before, what's this guy going to do to make it better?" She asked them as they shrugged. Erin finished changing and walked out Erin walked back over to the desk and asked where her new partner was.

"Erin Lindsey meet"

"Oh you've got to be kidding me!" Said Erin interrupting Platt as the guy turned around to face her

"Please tell me Voight is joking!" She said looking between the two as the guys eyes went wide.

"What's the problem?" Asked Platt

"He's an ass!" Said Erin

"We went to High School together. I must say I never expected you to end up here. Chasing down the people you used to be" He said to her

"Platt remind me to shoot my dad. Jay Halstead this is our desk Sargent Trudy Platt" Said Erin holding her hand out for the patrol keys. She walked away without Jay following her. She didn't even look behind her as she walked down the stairs

"Halstead! Move it!" she yelled as he's eyes went wide and he looked at Platt before bolting after her.

"So you're a cop?" He asked her during their lunch. They had literally spent the entire down out on the beat. Lindsey driving the entire time and neither of them saying a word. 

"Wow good detective work there patrolmen!" She said to him giving him an eye role as he laughed at her Sass. 

"What are you laughing at?" She asked annoyed

"Sorry it's just in high school you'd shy away from talking to anyone and here we are and your a cop and sassing me!" He said laughing as a call came over the radio

"shut up! We've gotta role" she said pulling the car out into the traffic headed towards a fire scene to help out with firehouse 51. 

"What do we do?" asked Jay getting out of the car. The crowd was really angry. Erin couldn't help but laugh and rolled her eyes

"Get them to back up" She said as a few other patrols pulled up and they started pushing the crowd back. Erin suddenly noticed a flash out of the corner of her eye. She looked behind her to see that the gun was aimed at Gabby. She turned and bottled taking Gabby down as the guy fired. Jay and the others jumped onto him as a few of the firefighters eyes wide came rushing over to check on the girls

"Gabby!" Yelled one blonde haired one. Erin rolled off Gabby and looked at her

"you good?" she asked as Gabby nodded

"I should be asking you that!" She said as they stood up. Erin looked over at the guy who had called out earlier

"She's fine Casey" Said Erin as Matt pulled her to him kissing the top of her head as Jay walked over to Erin

"You just dove on her without a second though!" Said Jay as Erin laughed a little bit

"Yeah and?" She asked him laughing

"damn" he said under he's breath as the scene calmed down and they all headed to their vehicles

When they finally they got back to the district they went to the change rooms to change out. Erin changed quick walking back up to the lobby to catch her dad.

"Hank!" She called out from the desk as he came over

"How was Halstead today?" he asked her as they hugged

"We went to the same high school so for that I should shoot you" she said to him as he laughed

"I know" he said to her as she looked at him wide eyed

"He was also the one dropping off your school work and those home cooked meals those times you got attacked" He told her as she went wide eyed

"You're joking" She said to him as he smirked

"guess there's only one way to find out" He said seeing Jay walk into the lobby too.

"Remember dinner tomorrow night!" He said to her as she nodded and he walked off before turning to look at her

"I heard about the back up. Keep up the hard work kid" He said as she blushed

"It was nothing, at least I have a bit more protection" She said to him as he walked away

"Halstead!" She yelled running after Jay

"What's up?" He asked her

"I just wanted to say you're not so bad and if you'll keep me as a partner, don't be late tomorrow!" she said as he smiled at her before nodding he turned to walk off but she grabbed he's arm

"and Thank you" She said to him as he looked at her confused

"For what?" he asked her

"High school" was all Erin said before strutting away as he stood their jaw open.

"Hey buddy, pick your jaw up before you catch flies" Said Platt as he shook himself out of he's trans

"Damn she's still amazing" He said leaning against the desk Platt laughing

"Watch it there buddy, her dad knows of thousands of ways to kill you all of them end with us not being able to find the body" she said as he laughed

"We've had an understand" said Jay walking away

"I'll see you tomorrow Sargent Platt!" He called walking out
