Twelve: She Won

SKY LORRAINE PEREZ

"What do you want?" I asked in my coldest voice. I wanted to sound not interested dahil ayun naman ang totoo. Diretso ang tingin ko, pero hindi sakanya kundi sa bintana ng kanyang sasakyan.

"Why so cold Ms. Perez? Huh?" he asked. He actually asked that? I didn't like his sound kaya naman napatingin ako sakanya. 

"Damn you Larisima! Spill it out! I don't have plenty of time for this!" I scolded. Those last words are exactly the words he said to me when I set an appointment with him. Now tell me. Tell me how it feels like.

"How dare you raise your voice." sagot nya na may diin. Hindi sya sumigaw pero ramdam ko ang inis sa pagkakabitaw nya ng mga salitang iyon. His jaws clenched habang himigpit ang pagkakahawak nya sa manibela. 

"This is bullshit. I'm out." walang gana kong sagot. Bubuksan ko na sana ang pinto ng sasakyan pero bago pa ako tuluyang makatalikod ay nahawakan nya na agad ang pulso ko. Hinatak ko ang kamay ko pero malakas sya.

"No one dared to turn their backs on me." usal nya with his voice full of authority. Sorry but I am not afraid of him. Sa sinabi nya, mas lalo lang akong natuwa dahil ako pala ang unang taong tinalikuran sya. I stepped his ego. 

"Ibahin mo ako Larisima." mayabang kong sabi. 

His jaw dropped dahil sa sinabi ko. Kitang kita ko rin kung paanong nanlaki ang mga mata nya. His grip loosen up kaya naman mabilis kong hinatak ang kamay ko mula sakanya at agad akong bumaba ng sasakyan. I grinned.

Mabilis akong sumakay ng sasakyan ng kapatid ko at agad naman nya itong pinaandar. I can't wear off the grin on my face. I think I just stepped on his ego not once, but twice. The moment his jaw dropped, I loved it. I loved the feeling when I hit every man's weakness. At sa pagkakataong ito, ang ego naman ni Larisima ang inapakan ko.

"By that grin on your face, I can say that you won." my brother commented while wearing a smile. I smiled back at him.

CLOUD KRISTOFF LARISIMA

"Damn that woman!" I shouted kasabay ng paghampas ko sa lamesa ko.

She just stepped on my ego. Una pinagtaasan nya ako ng boses sa loob mismo ng sasakyan ko. Pangalawa she turned her back against me! Wala pang gumagawa sakin nun! Kahit isa! She really knows how to mess up with men. She just messed with me! Damn!

"Looks like you've got your best enemy." natatawang sambit ni Job. 

"I am Cloud Kristoff Larisima. Who ever dares to mess with me sees hell in return. I will make sure to make her see hell. Mark that Job. Mark my words." madiin kong sabi. Kinuyom ko ang mga kamay ko sa inis. 

"Order me a bouquet of white roses and send it to her early morning tomorrow. Sabayan mo ng hilaw na mangga at bagoong." utos ko kay Job. I have a plan. We will play a game. Tignan natin kung gaano sya kagaling mag laro. 

"Yes sir!" mabilis na sagot nya na tatawa pa. 

I don't know why but the moment I saw her grinned after getting off my car, it sent me excitement. Para bang nakaramdam ako na dapat ko syang habulin. That I should chase her. Siguro dahil alam kong she's up for a game kaya ganun. I don't know. Pero I should keep my eyes on that woman. 

THIRD PERSON'S POV

He went home with a frown on his face. Hindi nya alam kung matutuwa ba sya o hindi. The girl whom she secretly admires finally caught the attention of the well known young businessman. Nagseselos ba sya? Yan ang tanong nya sa sarili nya pero tanging buntong hininga ang sagot nya.

He threw his body on his king sized bed. Now he began to feel tired. Pero kahit na ramdam na nya ang pagod ay pinilit nyang bumangon ulit para kuhain ang photo album sa damitan nya. Binuksan nya ito at nakangiting tinignan ang bawat litrato. 

He's been always there. Simula't sapul nandyan sya at nagmamsid. He was contented looking at her from afar. Contented seeing her smile form distance. The last thing he remembered before he fell into deep sleep is that he was smiling while looking at the photo of boy kissing a girl.
