Xavier had always been Mr Popular in the school.
His handsome face with red full lips, sharp nose, beautiful eyes, not to mention his athletic skill and his beautiful voice, he instantly became the idol of the school.
Despite his popularity, Xavier was not a playboy type that would date a lot of girls at one time.
One of his principles, he would date just one girl at one time. Although Jessica did admire him a little because of his principle, it could not be the reason for her to be happy to be his forced best friend.
The thing was, he always got replacement as soon as he broke up with his girlfriend. Well, in one way or another, he would still be called a playboy.

There was one time when a girl who was a member of broadcasting club confessed her love to him.
Jessica got to know it later that she was trying to brag to her friends that she would be going out with Xavier.
So, she chose the broadcasting room to confess her love. She intentionally put the microphone on so that the whole school could hear it and started her confession.
What the girl did not expect, Xavier rejected her confession because at that time he was dating a beautiful model.

People always mistook them for being a couple because they were always spotted together.
Xavier always asked for her help when he got in troubles, mostly with girls.
So, when the girl asked if he liked Jessica, he answered 'yes'. What they mistook was, he meant it 'like-as-a-best-friend, not like-as-in-girlfriend. The next day, Jessica got tons of hate-letters and everywhere she went, she would get laser-blade stares.
By the time the rumour got spread, she was treated like an enemy by the whole female population. There went her peaceful, calm high school life.

She did not want to play this kind of friendship game with him anymore. She'd suffered enough. And, when she planned to say that on his face and gathered the courage, she got to know that his parents already died in an accident and he was living with his grandma. She really had no idea that the carefree boy had such terrible past.
He must have suffered a lot. Sympathy overwhelmed her and she decided to continue to be his best friend. The real best friend. It was only later that she got to know that his grandma owned a big company and he was actually a very rich heir.
By that time, she had already accepted her fate and decided to just go with the flow.

She'd lost count the number of times Xavier brought troubles into her life.
Either in high school or in college. Nothing good came out from being with him.
So, this time, when Xavier was kneeling in front of her with his puppy eyes, clasping his hands asking for her help again, she knew she would be in a lot of trouble. In a very deep trouble. Again.

So, let's rewind to the situation 15 minutes ago.

"Jessica, I need your help!" That was the first things that came out of his mouth as soon as he approached her at one of the table in the café.

"No." The reply came out as fast as the lighting, crushing the man's hope.

"But, I did not say anything yet. You don't even know what I want to ask." Xavier tried to argue in more pitiful voice.

"Whatever it is, my answer is no!" Jessica took a slurp from her cappuccino, ignoring his plead.

Xavier was not giving up. In fact, he would never give up.
"Jessica, please don't be like this! I really really really need your help. See, I said 'really' 3 times."

Jessica placed her cup on the table.
Folding her arms across her chest, she said, "Xavier, knowing you for almost 8 years, I already know that you are up to no good."

"Wow, 8 years? Really? That long? I don't even know that!" His eyes were twinkling like a kid.

"It's because you are an idiot. You are the king of idiots of idiots land."
In fact, there was no word to describe how idiot this idiot was. Though she hated to admit that his grades were always higher than hers.

Xavier furrowed his eyebrows. He looked confused.
"The what? Idiots land? That's sound harsh but 'King', that's pretty good, isn't it?" He smiled stupidly.

Jessica sighed. "I give up.
There is no cure for your idiotism."

"Auwww, you are so cruel. You don't have to go as far to compliment me.
" Xavier grinned from ears to ears, as if he just got an award for being a good kid.

"It's not a compliment!" Jessica fought the urge to kill him.
Until today, she really could not figure out whether Xavier was being ignorant or just simply an airhead.
He did always get good grades though. All the more questions to what was inside his head.

Calm down, Jessica. There was no use to lose your cool just because of this thickhead guy. Jessica tried to calm herself. She took a deep breath before started asking, "What help do you want?"
