Jasmine stared at her older sister as she rushed to get ready for church that morning. She didn't understand why her sister didn't hear her alarm, although the whole house heard it.

But Janet knew better than to tell her obedient younger sister anything. All her sister would do was run and tell their mother. Claiming that she wanted her sister to stop being the way she was.

But Janet knew where she was this morning. Almost like every other morning she was with Mr.Williamson. While Mrs.Williamson was at work early.

And once again he made her leave the house. Without so much as a goodbye kiss.

"Girls are you ready!?",their mother, Lassete called out from downstairs.

"Yes!",the girls yelled back in unison.

As Jasmine walked downstairs with her older sister trailing behind, she couldn't help but wonder why her sister wouldn't tell her where she really was this morning.

Sinful Souls.
They'll leave you breathless. They'll leave you cold. Faces of beauty and eyes that've never told. Lips that have secrets to hold.
Sinful Souls.

I sat on our brand new couch as my roommate and best friend, Shariah, cooked breakfast for us.

As the savory smell of eggs and pancakes permeated through the two bedroom apartment, my mind kept wondering to the man last night. He was clean yet he had a dirt to his tone that intrigued me. An uncleanliness that I liked.

Maybe it was because I was a good girl all my life, even until now, and bad boys always caught my attention. Usually I always caught theirs but he was different.

"Foods ready.",Shariah said from the kitchen.

I got up from the couch and made plates for us both. We talked and laughed a little while as we sat and ate, but I felt like I wanted to know more people since we moved here.

She was finishing college and, since I had already finished but didn't have any family around but her, I decided to follow her.

"I want to meet new people but I don't know how.",I said as I chewed on my pancakes that were saturated in syrup.

She shrugged as she scrolled through her phone.

"We should go to church. Everybody goes there on Sunday's and it's a good way to meet good people.",she said as she finally tore her eyes away from her phone.

Making eye contact with me.

I shrugged. I wasn't really feeling the church vibe today, but I wanted the association.

"Um, sure. I mean we're probably already late though.",I replied.

Shariah shrugged.

"Better late than never."

I sat behind my father who was standing on the pew. Preaching to people.

I didn't understand how he could tell people to be honest with themselves and God but he didn't even want me to know I had an older brother. He still thinks that I don't know.
