Chapter 2.

"Holmes it seems we have no choice to be involved with this case do we?" I said profoundly. Holmes sat in his usual chair smoking a pipe with his usual mixture of 243 different types of tobacco in it. I honestly didn't understand how he could smoke the stuff it seemed ghastly to me. "Ah Watson it would seem so, I think by the time I finish my pipe Lestrade will be here."

"Lestrade is coming?" I asked.

"Indeed Watson I thought it wise to include ourselves in the investigation in light of recent events." Several minutes passed and in that time I too had myself a pipe although I used just regular tobacco nothing like Holmes's. As Holmes finished off his pipe Mrs Hudson knocked on the door and then let herself in she then told us that inspector Lestrade was here to see us. "Should I let him in?" she asked Holmes.

"Of course Mrs Hudson." Holmes replied. Mrs Hudson nodded and left our room and within a minute there was a more profound knock on the door. Lestrade I thought and got up to let the Scotland Yard inspector in. "Watson." Lestrade greeted me and moved passed and sat on the guest chair of 221B. I smiled at the thought that Lestrade knew not to occupy neither Holmes's nor my chair. These were the rules of 221B Baker Street. I closed the door and went back to my chair.

"Mr Holmes." Lestrade said with formality. "I trust I was brought here under good circumstances."

"Of course Lestrade." Holmes said. "Watson and I have taken a personal interest in your case."

"I think we should go to the crime scene of the first victim Mr Holmes."

"Before we go Lestrade Can you tell us every single detail of the scene when you first got there leave out no detail however small you may think it is it could be the most important."

"But Mr Holmes I think we should get to the crime scene as quickly as possible there is a carriage outside waiting for us." Lestrade Said calmly.

"Let us talk in the carriage then Lestrade." Holmes sounded quite annoyed with this response but reluctantly he got up and opened the door for Lestrade and myself. Lestrade led us three out of 221B Baker Street and into the police carriage which was waiting outside on the street. A lowly police constable opened the door for us and took his hat off to Lestrade. Within a minute of getting into the carriage we were moving quickly along towards the crime scene. Holmes was the first to talk still anxious to hear about the crime scene from Lestrade. "So Lestrade what can you tell Watson and I?"

"Okay Mr Holmes this is all I can say, we are going to the house of Baron Raymond I'm sure you know him." I cut off Holmes before he could speak and said

"You don't mean the wealthy industry owner who resides in west London?"

"The very same one." Lestrade said to me. Now Holmes had his chance to talk. "So the victim had money had prized possessions."

"Yes Mr Holmes but something we thought interesting was that the good Baron owned several wax factories."

"Now that can't be coincidence." I said.

"No Watson it can't." Holmes said convincingly.

"IS there anything you would like to know about his house Mr Holmes?" Lestrade asked.

"No Lestrade I’ve already been to his house before. “Holmes informed Lestrade.

"You've what Sherlock, when have you been to Baron Raymond's house?" I rarely called Holmes by his first name it was only in very important matters. Holmes never actually answered my question and for the rest of the ride stared distantly out of the window. Lestrade and I followed his example. At last after 20 minutes I could feel the carriage slow down and then completely stop. The Same constable who was with us at Baker Street opened the door to let us out. Lestrade nodded in his direction. Although Lestrade seemed to think he was in charge of Holmes and I despite his attempts Holmes lead us to the house. Holmes seemed a bit anxious I thought.

"Where is the body Lestrade?" Holmes quickly asked.

"In the dining room Mr Holmes." Holmes hurried off through the foyer into the gran hall with a two way stair case going up to what I presume was the bedrooms. This place was amazing I thought to myself. Holmes was still rushing off through to the dining room. When I had reached the dining room I found Holmes kneeling next to the body which had to be the Baron. Holmes slid his fingers over the face of the lifeless closing the eyes of Baron Raymond for the last time. I walked over to him and asked Holmes. "Did you know him well?"

"He came to me 28 days ago asking for advice."

"Advice on what?" By this time Lestrade had joined but kept his distance sensing a situation to stay out of. "16 days ago he received a box of chocolates like the ones we got Watson with wax just like ours, He came two me two days after he had got them each day one wax piece was removed. At the start he had 16 when he came to me he only had 14." I listened quietly and waited for Holmes to finish his story. "I told the Baron that it was just someone playing a joke on him and to pay no attention to it." As soon as Holmes had fished saying this he shot up like a bullet with a gleam in his eye. "The box Watson where is it, we need to find it." I stood up and turned to look at Holmes but all I saw was him going back into the grand hall. I walked off as fast as I could after him. Before my war wound I used to be quite a good runner now running just hurts. Holmes was much quicker than me and by the time I had reached the grand hall he was at the top of the stairs. Lestrade was behind me and following me up the stairs. I reached the top of the stairs and turned into the bedroom part of the house the door at the end of the hall was open I guessed Holmes was in that one. I walked to the end of the hall with Lestrade at my side. I entered the room and saw Holmes on the bed holding the same colour and shape the box that was in 221B Baker Street. Holmes glanced at me and turned the box around and showed me. Every single one of the wax pieces was gone, the box was empty. After being full 16 days ago now it was empty and the recipient of the box lay in his dining room was dead.
