I'm sure many of you will agree with me when I say that there are plenty of fanfictions that could use some more work. A lot of them have the same overused plot lines and cliched ideas that it seems hard to find a good, original, creative fanfiction, especially one that's well-written (you know, with proper grammar and spelling and all that).

Many of you may even fall into this category, but please don't be offended. I am not here to tell you that you have no potential in writing fanfictions. In fact, I absolutely love that you are dedicating your time and energy into writing! But some authors may not notice how many people actually stop reading when the readers realize the author doesn't take the time to proofread or use proper grammar (and by that, I mean knowing the difference between "your" and "you're," making sure everything is capitalized right, etc.).

The tips in this book are based on the things that I do when writing and so they may not fit with your preferences, but just by following a few of them, you may gain more readers who appreciate you taking the time to create a well-written fanfiction!
