I was once in love with the sea. The salty morning air had once been refreshing, and the crashing waves had been my call to rise for the coming morning. Or my lullaby to cradle me to sleep. The sand warm between my toes, my sister's laugh each time she jumped into the blue-green waters. I had loved it once, but that was before I was chained and cast away.
I was only ten when I had crossed the Emerald Sea and into the kingdom of Isoline, disoriented and covered in my own filth. I was only ten when I had come to hate the sea.
