Harry closed the front door to his house gently behind him. In front of him stood a creature that he’d never ever think was real.

A boy, with a fluffy tail and pointy kitten ears. This boy had brown hair, that was a bit messy, due to staying in the alley. His face was beautiful to Harry - ignoring the dirt on his cheeks. He was skinny for someone his size. His cheekbones poked out and his arms weren’t what they could be. But something that Harry was really drawn to was his eyes. They were blue, and it looked it they had just the slightest bit of green in them. They were gorgeous, and at the same time breathtaking.

The boy, who had said his name was Louis, shifted uncomfortably under Harry’s gaze. Harry blinked and shook his head.

Beautiful. Really, man?’ Harry thought to himself. He took a deep breath and took a step towards Louis, and instantly, Louis stepped back, fear flashing across his face.

“Hey, its okay,” Harry said softly, slowly taking another step, and another, and another, until he was right in front of Louis, looking down on him. Louis gulped quietly.

“H-Harry is n-nice...?” he asked shakily.

Now, from what Harry has heard so far, Louis has had an... interesting past, so to say. He doesn’t speak well, and Harry suspects he doesn’t know much either. He stayed in a cage and, apparently, talked to it as well?

“Yes, Louis,” Harry said gently. “I’m not gonna hurt you. I haven’t yet, have I?”

“N-no...” Louis mumbled, looking down at his feet. Harry smiled softly, gently placing a hand on Louis’ shoulder. He flinched, eyes scrunching shut, almost like he was expecting pain. Harry instantly pulled his hand away, a frown forming on his lips.

“Uh... Here. Are you hungry?” he asked, taking a step back. At Louis’ shy nod, Harry motioned Louis to follow him as he walked into his kitchen. “What would you like?”

“Um...” Louis mumbled and shuffled his feet nervously, standing in the middle of the kitchen. “Louis d-does not kn-know.” Harry hummed quietly in reply, opening his refrigerator.

“Well, uh, I have some ham... cats like that, right?” he asked himself out loud. He glanced at Louis, whose ears were perked up and his eyes excited. “You want some ham?” Harry asked. Louis nodded excitedly, a small smile on his lips.

“S-scientist had ha-ham once. Sme-smelled very g-good,” he said.

“Want a sandwich?” Harry asked. “‘Cause that’s what I’m gonna make.” Louis tilted his head, a confused look on his face.

“Sad-witch?” he asked slowly. “Wh-what is a s-sad-witch?”

“You don’t know what a sandwich is,” Harry mumbled. “Louis, what did you eat when you were with the scientist?” Louis frowned, a pained expression forming on his face.

“It w-was very... n-not good.” he mumbled.

“What was it?” Harry asked, pulling out the packet of sliced ham from the fridge. He grabbed the bread and set the items on the counter before turning to face Louis. Louis bit his lip and shuffled his feet.

“L-Louis does n-not know...” he mumbled. Harry nodded slowly, frowning.

“Okay, that’s fine.”

“Ha-rry?” Louis asked quietly.

“Hmm?” Harry hummed as he turned back to the counter and started putting together a sandwich for Louis.

“Wh-why is Ha-Harry being n-nice to L-Louis...?”

Harry furrowed his eyebrows as he finished making the sandwich. Why was he helping Louis?
