'She's disappeared again' Mrs Murray exclaimed, 'that bloody girl' she continued. Alex was already halfway home. It'd taken her teachers that long to discover she was gone. Alex knew they didn't care so she walked out whenever she felt she needed to. Like today. When Alex reached home she sat and thought about the incident that occurred at school. How the children had been so cruel, careless? 'Is it me she thought?' Her family had always told her she was flawless and anyone who said otherwise was in a spite of jealously. But that statement never really added up to Alex 'why would they hate on me because I'm flawless? I know I'm not?' Alex was in a state a tear for every word. She'd already tried to kill herself twice. The children just didn't understand. Nobody knew the severity of it not even her own mother. Teachers had concerns but nobody ever followed through. Alex sat on her bed facing the mirror examining herself. 'Maybe it's my face?' Alex had some acne Puberty had given her back when she was younger, she was now self conscious of her face. 'Or maybe my weight?' Alex continued. Alex had always been in a battle with her body she always thought she needed to loose weight even when her bmi would be severely under. Alex knew she wasn't the only one to be feeling like this but for her she felt things wore just that little bit worse. The clock was ticking it was almost 4 o'clock her mother would soon be home. Alex went to the bathroom washed away her tears and started cooking tea. Alex felt her phone vibrate in her Blazers pocket. She opened her phone dreading what the message was to say. It was an unknown number 'why don't you kill yourself nobody likes you you're a sl' Alex stopped reading at this point and fell to the floor in tears, she couldn't even escape the abuse at home. She was promised it was just a phase people wore going through when they wore younger but two years later and the bullying just preceded to grow further into people she didn't even know. Alex had nobody she could unload on to, no friends and no family she thought would listen. She was stuck in a rut.
