"Honey it will only be for a while, if you don't like it we can always find other arrangements. For now, he's all you have," the woman told me as her dark eyes looked down at me with pity. I was shaking with sadness and anger. My parents had died almost a year ago, and we've been trying to find someone that I could live with. We finally found my brother after all of this time of searching for someone to take care of me. I was only sixteen for goodness sakes! There were still two years till I would be able to handle my own. "Your flight leaves in a few minutes, do you have everything you need?" She asks me, and I look down at my black canvas bag. This is all I need, clothes weren't that important to me, besides the lady was giving me money for clothes.

"Yes," I muttered.

I hadn't spoken much since I had been sent to the foster home. They didn't think I was trouble, but the people of the home just didn't think that I was cut out for being with strangers. I knew that was true, but until now I had nowhere else to go. Now I had my brother, but would he even take care of me or would he reject me? There was so much that could go wrong, and if the rug was pulled from under my feet I'd be let out to die on my own. Sure you might think that I'd be fine, sixteen I can get a job right? Well, I'd have to work a lot more than I'd be able to handle, it would be working but living on the streets.

"Flight 12C New York City, New York to Dallas, Texas boarding now." A voice said over an intercom. I sighed while standing up, my arms wrapped themselves around my small torso as I looked timidly forward towards the gate of my plane. There was so much I was leaving here in New York for an uncertain future in Texas. The lady, Mrs. Brighton, kept pushing me towards the gate till I almost fell to my knees. Luckily, I had caught myself and then continued to board the plane. There were so many people already crammed onto the plane. I hope I wouldn't be seated with a weirdo or some creep.

When I finally realized I didn't know where I was sitting anyway, I pulled out my ticket and looked down at the seat number. 03A. I breathed out and finally found my seat a second later, it was a two seater, I was on the outside, near the window. Thank goodness, when I was in a plane I preferred a window seat to stare at the clouds and landscape to see where we were. Although, the two seater meant that someone was going to sit with me, that got my heart kicking, and my breath start to come out in slight pants. People, they weren't something I liked to see.

I took my seat and stared out the window, a while later there was a presence beside me. My eyes closed as I tried to calm my breathing, I really didn't want to be around people. "Are you okay?" The voice of the person I'd be sitting to asked, and it was male too. Oh no, there was so much wrong with this situation, and it was not helping my ragged breathing. Damn anxieties. I thought to myself as I glanced towards the male finally.

He was attractive. Even I, self proclaimed people hater, could tell that. His eyes were a dark shade of gray, almost black if you asked me, and his hair was also black, he had pale skin, and was lanky in the arms and legs. His torso was flat, but I could tell there was no muscle underneath his black, long sleeved shirt. Does he know what the weather is like in Texas? He won't last a second down there without getting a heatstroke. It was at that moment I realized that I'd been staring at him for too long. I was scared to look up thinking he'd think of me as some sort of creep, but eventually I did. He had a small, peculiar smile on his face as his black eyes looked down at me.

"You're not really a socializer are you?" He asks with a gruff chuckle, his voice really surprised me. You wouldn't really expect a lanky boy like him to have such a deep voice, it was almost baritone. Although it did crack a lot, so I wondered if he was faking it to sound cool. Shit I'm doing it again, say something! I let out a strangled cough, my dark honey eyes wide with embarrassment.
