Lauren's POV

I throw my bag in the corner of my room. I close my door and rest my head on my desk. "Get some rest Lauren. Bla bla bla..." I open my laptop and start writing. Writing about today, about how overprotective Scott is. I know he is trying to do what's best for me but it can be really annoying. I am sorry for how I reacted but on the other hand am I still to frustrated to send him a text.

After an hour I hear noises in the kitchen. My mom I guess.  In a couple seconds I hear a familiar voice. "Lauren! Are you ready for dinner?" Yes, it is my mom. Honestly, my mom is an amazing cook but I am just not hungry. The only thing I want is laying on my bed and sleep till the morning... "Mom I'm not hungry. I will eat tomorrow. Love you!" I wait for a minute. No response. Well I guess it's fine then. I let my exhausted body fall on my bed and I close my eyes. Every time I close my eyes I get a weird feeling in my stomach for a moment. It's like I am afraid that I will never see the light again. But I have to face my fears, otherwise I will never be able to sleep again. I try to close my eyes as long as possible squeezing my sheets. Piece by piece it gets less scary. My lights are still on, but I am making process every day. Maybe one day I can turn them off again, but for now I'm glad I can close my eyes without being insanely afraid. I have to let go of what happened in the past. I have to let go of the accident.

FIVE DAYS LATER - For the first time in months I sleep more than six hours. It feels so good to be able to sleep again. I open my heavy feeling eyes. With a light smile on my face I throw my sheets off me and step out of my bed. I put my black ripped jeans and 1975 band shirt on and grab my black leather bag. Ready for school. When I'm in the kitchen I realise everyone is still sleeping. I may sleep better these days but I'm still the one who wakes up the earliest. I quietly get my stuff for school and put them in my bag. Before leaving the house I quickly grab an apple out of the fruit bowl. I open the front door. The sun is shining like every other day in Miami. The beautiful weather makes me happy. I love the sun. It can change my sad mood like nothing else can. In front of my house is a park located. In the middle of the park I see an old wooden bench. I always wait there until I have to leave for school or to read books. Nobody visits this park anymore. A couple streets further they built a more modern park. Everyone thinks is more beautiful than this park but I disagree on that. To be honest, it doesn't bother me that nobody visits this park anymore. It is so quiet here. I like that.

I grab my phone. "1 MESSAGE: SCOTTY" I unlock my phone causing the message to show up.

Scotty: "Hey... How re u? I am worried. I know you may not want to talk to me, but know I am always there for you. I'll catch you if you fall. Know that babe." - 08:01am

Me: "Hi. I know Scotty, I know. And I also will catch you when you fall. And if I fail and you will hit the ground I maybe laugh BUTTTTT I still help you. ;) Oh and I'm okay."  - 08:03am

Scotty: "HAHHAHAHAHAHA THAT'S MY GIRL!!" -08:03am

I put my phone back in my pocket and continue my way to school.

My locker is at the end of the hallway and since my first class starts in five minutes so I have to hurry up. I run to my locker and place my books in it. When I turn around I feel something hitting my body. "No, shit my stuff!" My Spanish books and papers are spread across the hallway. "S-sorry it's my fault." The girl quickly collects the papers and gives them back to me. I want to tell her to look out next time she is running to class as some weirdo, but when I see how scared she is I keep my mouth shut. I look behind me and see some notebook laying against the lockers. I turn it around and give it to her. "Here, this must be your-" The words are stuck in my mouth as two chocolate brown eyes meet mine. The girl smiles softly. " It's um. It's my fault, I- I  did not see you." I smile nervously, but the girl breaks our eye contact. She seems very shy. Her cheeks are still glowing red of embarrassing. "I-I have to go." The girl stands up and runs away as fast as she can.

While walking to my Spanish class I realize that this was the first time in months that I didn't get mad at someone so fast. Normally it works as a reflect for me. The girl maybe ran away, but that was not because I scared her off. She was just very shy. That's what I hope...

I  enter the classroom and take a seat next to the window. The bell rings. "Yesss, I'm on time." I say to myself. A warm hand hits my shoulder softly. I look up and there is Scott. He smiles and goes sit next to me. "Hi there girl. Ready for Spanish?" He winkes at me. "Hey there is my bicurious friend I missed so much." I smile apologising. "Stop teasing me. It's alright by the way. I'm not mad at you." With that said he turns his head to the school board. "Okay, attention please. Today we are going to start with Spanish grammar." Miss Hollward says. "Page 725 please." The lesson starts and I'm slowly swimming in my thoughts. I never had a good concentration and I still don't have it, but I am good at Spanish so it doesn't bother me.

Later that day I switch my books and go to the cafeteria. I take a seat at a lunchtable and reach for my sandwiches. Scott goes sit next to me without saying anything. "What's wrong?" I ask him. "Nothing. I am just trying to remember who that girl is." He points to a girl across the room. "Overthere. I think I have never seen her before. Do you know if she is new here?" Scott always tries to make new students comfortable and helps them. He is so sweet and selfless. "No not really." I say when I see it's the girl I bumped into earlier this morning. "Damn... That sucks. Shall I ask her to sit overhere?" He asks already knowing the answer. Ofcourse not. I'm not very social so I would scare her away. That's why I always say "no" to this kind of questions. Not because I don't like people, but just because I don't want to make someone uncomfortable. "I have to go to class. I see you tomorrow." I give Scott a kiss on the cheek and walk away.

Hi guys! I hope you still like this book (I hope you like it at all...). I first want to let you know the characters and what kind of relationship Scott and Lauren have. Maybe a new character gets introduced in the next chapter. See it for yourself.
