Chapter 1~ Chats

(Mavis' POV)

Today will be such a wonderful day! Well it has been so far! I've aced 6 of my classes with A+'s and I've also gotten a bunch of extra credit assignments done! All in one day!

Anywho, I'm supposed to meet my Friends at the cherry tree in Magnolia park. But first I'm supposed to meet with zera at the ice cream stand and walk with her to the tree.

"Zera!" I yell out waving my hands in the air. She sees me.

"Mavis, jeez what took you so long? I orders for you and it's about to melt! Here take it," she says handing me my favorite! Vanilla with rainbow & chocolate sprinkles!~

"Oooo! Thanks so much zera! So shall we?"

"We shall,"

On the way to the cherry tree, zera starts talking about a certain guy at school.
"You know Zeref? Zeref Dragneel?"

"What about him?"

"Apparently he killed the plants in the green room. The guy in charge, droy, walked in and found him with all the plants dead."

"Whoa, for real?"

"Yeah, super scary right?"

"And a bit of creepy. What a wacky coincidence,"

"Hold up, that's no coincidence! Mavis that guys cursed! So don't you dare go near him!"

"Oh c'mon zera, there's no way you believe that junk?"

"Oh please that's like the 4th time something like that happened this month! That guy is totally creepy!"

"I do admit it's a bit strange, and it does send a bit chills down my spine, but I'm sure there's something logical behind it all." And as I state this, we approach the girls under the cherry tree.

"Oh hey Mavis!" Lucy greets out.

"Hiya Lucy, girls!" I say with a cheerful smile.

"Guys, talk some sense into her would'ya? She still thinks that that guy Zeref is not a total freak show," zera says to the group.

"Zeref? Oh my friends droy & jet said he was super creepy and cursed! He killed all the plants in the room, and that he had a creepy scary spooky look in his eyes." Levy informs us.

"Jellal also thinks he's bad news," Erza comments.

"Y-You guys! You shouldn't go talking about somebody like that, I mean there was probably something logical that happened." I suggest.

"Why are you standing up for him? He's a total creep!" Zera chants.

"Now, hold it! Don't go calling him that! You don't know him! And sure it's very suspicious of things that happen around him, but that doesn't give you the right to label him as a creep." I say to zera and the girls.

"Oh my, does it seems that you like Zeref? Mavis-San?" Mira asks smirking.

"H-Huh?! Ah No! I-I don't know him! H-How can I?!" I cry out.

"It's ok if you do Mavis," Wendy says.

"Yeah, we will support you." Lisanna says.

"Well that's nice and all but I'm not interested in someone I barely know!" I confirm.

"Any ways. I'm gonna head home." O continue, I wave bye and make my way home.
Oh the nerve of those guys! Saying such embarrassing things! I mean sure he's a Dragneel, he's cute I guess. I mean when he was new girls were eyeballing him until those hateful rumors started to spread.

Ah jeez I'm getting a bit of a headache~~ oof! Did I just bump into somebody?

"Sorry! I'm real clumsy! I uh---" the person I bumped into was him, Zeref!

"Ah! No pleas it was my fault, here let me help you up!" He got up first and reached his hand out.

Ok I think you don't understand this right now. I'll explain to you the way I see this: I'm on the ground and a really attractive guy is reaching his hand out to me and the shine of the setting sun is hitting his gorgeous black eyes & hair.

*BA-DUMP BA-DUMP!*

"Ah, T-Thanks, b-b-but it really was my fault. I really am a klutz!" I say reaching my hand out to him and rubbing my head.

"No, to be honest I was heading the wrong way, I got a bit side tracked and made the wrong turn." He says with a chuckle. I can't believe it, this nice talking guy is the rumored to be cursed guy of bad luck at my school?

"Y-Your Zeref Dragneel right?" I ask as I stand up.

"Uh, yeah."

"I knew it, your from my school right?"

"Oh um I guess so."

"Ah, I'm Mavis vermillion, nice to meet you!"

"Likewise. So I'll be on my way, Uh bye Mavis."

"Yeah, bye."
I thought that was bye, but he ended up walking the same way.
"Heading the same way huh?" I say to him with a nice smile.

"Oh? Am I? Sorry about that,"

"Why are ya sorry, I have some one to chat with!" I say smiling to him.

"I don't get it."

"Hm? Get what?"

"If your from the same school, you think I'm cursed right? With bad luck? I kill things? I'm a total weirdo?"

"What? There just rumors, I didn't really think you were like that. I mean a guy nice like you? Pa-Lease! You seem normal to me." I say with a reassuring smile.

"I, you think I'm normal?"

"Hah, of course silly, I mean I've been taking to you this long, you seem to be very normal."

"Thanks, I needed that."

"Well, you shouldn't in the first place, it's pretty mean. Why do you let people talk about you like that?"

"Well, I try but they won't listen and patience is not something we dragneel's are good at,"

"Hahaha, your pretty funny Zeref-kun!"

"Heh, yeah?"

"Uh-huh, jeez talking to you is really fun!"

"Heh, your so sweet." That line made my cheeks turn red.

"Ha, t-thanks. Anyways this is my stop."

"Oh? It's my stop too."

"Wait you live in the same apartment building?"

"Yeah, with my younger brother Natsu."

"I live alone on the 10th floor."

"I live on the 3rd floor. I guess that's why I never ran into you." He says cracking a smile that makes me red again.

"Oh wow, well than you can send me off at the elevator!" I suggest and he complies. Zeref said bye to me when we hit the 3rd floor. I lived all the way on top by myself. My parents died when I was young, and I got they money to pay for this from the money they left behind. It was aaa lllloooootttt. Enough for me to pay the rent and food for life. They were millionaires btw ;)

So I didn't know Zeref could be like that. He's not so bad, in fact he made me blush. He made me blush. Blush. Blush. BLUSH?!
