I look in the mirror and see a grumpy girl staring back at me. Mom is right, it really doesn't suit me being angry, but he somehow always finds a way of winding me up. I don't know how he does it, but he always gets on my nerves. Sometimes he says something, and other times he doesn't say anything at all, but pokes me or pushes me the tiniest bit, so nobody else than me notices it. It drives me insane. I have the feeling that somebody someday are going to find him dead and buried in the forest, and that I won't have an alibi. His name is Mason, and I know I shouldn't let him affect me, but I can't just ignore him. Another thing about him that really annoys me, is his looks. It would be much easier for me to hate him, if he wasn't so cute when he laughed, and looked so handsome walking down hallways. I have no idea what draws him to me, cause more than half the girls in school are prettier than I am. It may be the fact that we've been neighbors for a year now, but he has never spoken to me outside of school. I'm sure nobody else than me knows that he does these things, 'cause he makes sure there's no one around when he talks to me. He says things like:
"Those earrings aren't your style." Or, "remember to do your homework!" And all kinds of other random things. I usually reply with something sarcastic like:
"I only wear them to irritate you." Or, "thank you for reminding me, I had forgotten all about it!" And so we go on. Even though it really makes me angry, at the same time it is kinda fun. It's like I'm slowly starting to enjoy it. I of course wouldn't admit that in front of him in a millions years. I'm trying hard to keep up my façade, and not letting him see this. It is for some reason important to me, to not let him know, how much I want to laugh when I'm around him.
The bell rings, and it's time for class. I walk out of the girls bathroom, making my way to the classroom I'm supposed to be at in two minutes. I hadn't been keeping an eye on the time, and I'm running late. I don't want to look silly, so I repress the need to run through the entire school to the other end, where my classmates a finding their seats right about now. On the way I think of excuses I haven't used before. I decide to go with the one, where I say that I forgot my books, and had to go back to get them. I have done so in other classes, but this teacher haven't heard this one from me yet, so it should be just fine. The second bell goes off, and I'm still walking, faster now than before. I reach around the corner, and can see another student stepping over the doorstep. I am just about to do the same, when someone grabs my wrist, and pulls me in the direction I came from. I try to wrench myself free, but the grip is tight, and the person is not letting go. I turn around to look at my assaulter, and a look of shock crosses my face.
